Well - Greetings World's !!
How are you all doing this fine, very cold day ?! As I look out the window, all I can see is low cloud & mist.... plus my neighbour's "man friend". It's one of the better neighbours & we're always joking she should do the right thing & make an honest man of him.... but, as they are both heading towards 60+ - well... you probably get my
meaning !!
Apart from the clouds & mist - it is really cold outside !! Ok - I've not been any further than the front doorstep.... but, that was far enough for me today !! Even our regular postman was wrapped up tight this morning..... he usually wears shorts, no matter what the weather conditions !! Not today tho'..... oh well...
I've just realised, my computer seems to be on the fritz !! It seems to be working a few seconds behind me.... and for once, I can't blame J or ME, for hogging up the broadband - mainly as I'm home alone.... completely on my lonesome !! To explain......
As mentioned before - Monday was ME's 22nd birthday... and, as probably mentioned before. M (her boyfriend) had booked them a couple of nights away, in Cornwall. A great place in the Sun - but, maybe not so great at the end of February !! Anyhoo.... ME is away, until at least tomorrow..... and J - well.... he & B are in West Wales.....
J has won himself a place at Aberystwyth Uni.... starting in September (I guess).... and today, B has driven him up to the campus, for interviews & a good look around. B 'phoned at 1pm - just to say they found the place Ok & they were having some lunch........ B actually said that J was "filling his face".... so, I guess that means they're having lunch - or at least J is !!
It seems that it won't finish, until at least 5 this afternoon.... so, I guess that means they will be late home - something B will not really want.... as we didn't get home until about 8pm last night !! She will be well knackered by the time they get here !!
To explain....
Yesterday afternoon, I had another trip to the hospital.... to see the 2nd consultant. Long story made short - for first time readers.... It's possible that I'm going to have more surgery - something I do too often - and my main Consultant wanted a another "expert in the field" to look me over & give a second opinion.... with me so far ?!
So, back to yesterday afternoon...... we shot off to the hospital, in Taunton, to see the guy.... as usual, they were running well late !! I was suppose to see him at 2.45pm.... and it was nearly 4.30, by the time we were called in !! Never mind.... I'm used to the delays - and the fun we have, hearing "first-timer's" moan about it all !! Honestly - if you're so sick, you would be stuck in a bed, sooooo quick, your butt wouldn't touch the ground.... so, for all of it's problems, the NHS takes good care of people - well, that's my view on it, based on over 10 years of surgeries & hospital stays !!
Right.... back to my visit.......
The guy I saw was really good & explained things in "simple English"... so I could understand him !! My regular guy - well, he uses words I can't even say, let alone understand - but, this guy was really clear & precise, in everything he said & did !!
I took in my picture of the CT scan & he drew on it, in exactly the way I hoped he would.... to explain what was needed & how it was going to be sorted !! He also gave me a physical.... and boy, did that ever hurt !! At the end of it - the nurse rushed around to fetch me some water, as I was really shook up by it all - my body won't do those kind of things anymore !! Heck - I'm not 100% sure it could ever do some of the things I was put thru' yesterday !!
The final out-come, as best as I can make out.... is, much to my surprise, I am going to have the surgery & - as I thought - it's probably going to be one of, if not the biggest thing I've ever had done to me.
As my love Daughter, ME, is keen to point out.... "It's really going to hurt" and will, it seems, take a bit of getting over. The surgery itself will last between 6 & 8 hours - with a necessary stay in hospital, afterwards, to work myself back to some sort of "fitness" !! I'm not fit now - how having this done to me is going to improve on that.... well, it will be interesting to say the least !! Life is good...... well, at the moment..... !!
In May - I will go back to see my original Consultant & we'll take it from there. The guy I saw yesterday... well, I was told he was the best, or at least, one of the best in the country.... and that was brought into focus, by some of the people who were there. One of his patients, came all the from the Channel Islands, just to see him !! I'm not sure how far that is - but, it makes our little journey over the hills, seem pretty mundane !!
I just took a short break... as B is away for the day, I'm trying to do a few loads of washing for her. I'm not brilliant, when it comes to sorting out the stuff.... but, I know from experience, what to wash & what not to wash, in the same loads !!
I probably put too much in each time, but.... what the heck !! Hopefully I won't break anything .......
As for the music of the moment - well, that is a bit special !! One of the Allman Brothers concerts arrived yesterday.... "Yipppeeee !!". Ok - I know it's not the whole box full, but... it's better than nothing at all & after yesterday's exertions... this is a bit of a treat !! I'm well happy to have it.....
It's just one of the shows, recorded at The Beacon Theater, in New York, on March 25th last year... the tracks are:

Ok - I know I'm bias.... but, this is brilliant stuff !! Gregg Allman missed the show, with a back injury - but, there is no let up.... the rest of the band + guests - really play their collective rocks off !! It's fantastic and I still have over 20 more concerts on the ways to me !! how cool is that ?! I honestly cannot put into words how much I love My Wife & Dearest Friend........ especially when she does things like this & buys me a shed load of concerts !! It's brilliant & I'm well happy !!
I've also - as I've got the place to myself - been sorting out more albums, to put on the Mini Egg. I'm up to nearly 13,000 tracks so far.... and there is sooooo much space left, it's stupid !! Now I know, that I'm going to be stuck in the hospital - after the surgery - it's given me an extra nudge, to put more & more things on !!
I suggested that B took it with her, today, to use in the car.... but she decided to take her own iPod instead !! I can understand that - driving 150+ miles, listening to some of my stuff.... well, that might be just a little too much for her to put up with !! Oh well.......
My plans for tonight & the rest of the week....... to be honest, I've not thought that far ahead yet !!
I am hoping to get a nice warm fire going, for whenever the guys get back tonight.... but, my first attempt, at lighting it, has failed
dismally !! It was just starting to go - when one of the sticks "cracked" & blew the flames out !! Bummer.... I'll brave the frozen wastes of our garden, in a while & try & find some more stick, to start it with.
The guys did cut down a bunch of small trees, a few days back - but, all the stuff is still far too big to fit our little fireplace !! Nevermind - I will keep persevering & - hopefully - get it going over the next hour or so !! I've got plenty of time.... so, there is no big rush !!
So... for today.... I will be on my ways. I thank you all for logging in & taking the time to read my words - for now tho'... I must away... until next time......
Bye Bye
