Home alone... again !! Ho-hum.....

Greetings !!

Hi again from a chilly England. It's about 10.45am & I'm home alone....... again !! I could start to feel abandoned, with everybody going out & leaving me on my ownsome - but, the more I wake up, the more I seem to remember B explaining where she was going & that J was going with her !! Nevermind......

Back to last night.....

As mentioned yesterday, B & J went up to Wales, so that J could check out the Uni. I had thought about going to bed, because they wouldn't be home, until late. But, I decided against that....instead, I blasted some more music, from the Project '87 tapes, thru' my Sennheiser's - mainly to keep me awake !!

So - my recommendation to all of you..... put Ike & Tina Turner's 'River Deep, Mountain High' on the music machine - whatever you use - put your headphones on & turn the volume down to deafening & let it rip !! If that doesn't make the hair, on the back of your neck, stand up.... well, I don't know what else will !!

As it was, the guys didn't get home too late & we all climb the stairs together...... they were both tired out, especially B - who doesn't normally drive those sort of distances, but.... it was all Ok in the end.

I think B was more concerned over the fact she hadn't left me my 8pm pills & potions !! She did 'phone, at one point, to tell me what to take - so, I took the ones I could remember... the rest she sorted out, once she was home.

I don't think it really mattered too much.... I had another crap night anyways. B gave me more stuff, for me to get some sleep - but, I really am fed up of the days getting longer & the nights shorter !! At one time, at least, I could get to bed, go to sleep & forget about everything..... nowadays, however.... well, the days & nights all merge into one !! Bummer !!

Right back to today.....

B & J - as mentioned, are off in town someplace.... and ME & M are still away in Cornwall. I think they are due back today, at some point - tho' I'm not sure about that. Not to worry........

The music of the moment is a bunch of old singles..... mostly '60's related, which I was listening to last night. It's all a bit of fun..... with a bit of rock, being supplied by Leon Russell & his 'Jumping Jack Flash' & Youngblood' set from 'The Concert For Bangladesh'...... it's really strange, playing these old tapes.... a great way to finish a night & start a new day !!

Unfortunately... my day started as badly as the night finished..... sort of.......

As I didn't sleep too well, B left me to sleep it off, this morning..... which would of been pretty good. Unfortunately - there was this loud (to me) thumping on the front door & when I got down the stairs... well....

Basically, once a year - as you should - we have our gas heating boiler serviced. What B failed to tell me - before she went out this morning - was today was the day !! So - I came down, to find 2 guys stood on the doorstep, asking to come in !!

I was a bit rude, mainly as I hadn't been awake more than 3 minutes.... but, after I phoned B - to check it out.... I realised they were here by appointment & B had forgot all about it !! The words "Oh s**t" down the 'phone were a dead give away !! It's all Ok now tho'.... they have been & the heating is on, to try & warm me up a
bit !! Tho' - I could of done, with-out the loud wake up call !!

Just back to music.... Queen's live version of 'Brighton Rock' is blasting away at the moment, it's better than I remembered !! It's from their first live album - as I like to think, when they were still a rock band & not a platform for Mr Mercury to perform in front of !!

Here's a snippet of information for you..... Queen once played, locally..... as a 1 hour fill, between the disco !! How about that.... Disco - Queen - Disco !! They were an up & coming band, at the time & needed the exposure, I guess !! That was about 1973 or 1974.... I can't remember the exact year - way off, in the mists of time !! They were not always the massive "superstars" that people seem to remember them as !!

I picked up a copy of Brian May's 1998 solo album... 'Another World'. It's pretty good.... worth the £1 I paid for it at the 2nd shop, in
town !!

Right, my plans for the rest of the day.... Well, I'm not sure what time B & J are coming home.... so, I will probably mess around with some more tapes. I still have 10 left, to transfer over to Cd..... so, I can do that quietly, while I'm on my own. There are some "long" tracks coming up - so, that's makes lot a lot easier for me.... as they take less concentration on my part !!  Plus - while they're playing, I can do some other stuff.... what, well... I don't really know.... but, isn't that the best part of being alive ? Not knowing what's coming next.....  !!

For now tho'.... I must away. I would like to say a big "Hello" to my Russian reader. I don't know exactly who you are, or where you live... but, as with all of you, I thank you for taking the time to log in & read my words !! So - with 'Tubular Bells' playing quietly in the background... I will be gone.... until next time...

Bye Bye
