Bob Seger & "bad" news... ho-hum....

Greetings !!

Ok - it's another Friday.... it's very cold outside... but, for now, at least, I'm home & warm...... having been out for most of the past 24 hours or so !! Well, it seems like that at least....

As mentioned on many posts before... yesterday was "decision day".... as far as my next surgery was concerned - or at least, we thought it was !! But - for those of you who know me.... the phrase "never count your chickens before they hatch".. does have a certain meaning to it !! To try & explain the events of the last two days.....

Yesterday....I had to be at the hospital, for the first of my two meetings, at 3.30pm.... and we made it in good time - tho' the car parking was a little queued up.... nothing out of the ordinary tho'. As B was finding a space, I went on ahead..... as I had never been to the photographic department before...... I'll explain in a minute.....

.....but, anyways... After a bit of help, at the information desk, I shot up to the hospital's top floor & met a lovely lady called Sue. She explained what was needed & I complied.... as best as I could, under the circumstances... and she then went on to take about a dozen photo's....... all very strange !!

Just as I was finishing up..... Sue looked out into the waiting area & B arrived to help me get dressed. All of this happened within 15 minutes... maybe less, so we were way on time, for the second meeting, at 4.30pm !!

We then went down to the ground floor... where we were greeted by a sign, more or less saying, all of the meetings were delayed by about 60 minutes !! Never mind... we sat back & waited.... only to be called in, 15 minutes past our appointment time !! Great stuff.... or so we thought.....

The lady Dr we saw, was really nice... but, explained, that - because of the complexity of the surgery - she didn't feel "comfortable" talking about it, with us !! All very strange... but, she asked if we minded waiting to see the Consultant & - foolishly - we said "Ok" !!

Over 2 hours later.... we were the only people left !! All the staff had gone home & altho' we could hear a voice, behind us in an office, we more or less had the run of the place !!

At about 7pm... the Consultant called us in & apologised for all of the wait (it turned out someone was off sick & he had picked up the slack) - but, never mind, we were there & that was that !!

But, much to my disappointment... we didn't get an answer, as to what was/is going to happen !!

He went thru' the whole thing with both of us - which was good, as B wasn't there, when we talked about the surgery last December.... but, I'm not too happy to say, I have to wait to see another Consultant & at that time, a decision will be made..... one way or another !! Bummer !!

More so... because, the Consultant I'm going to have to wait to see.... well, he was meant to see me, last December... before I left the hospital !! Never mind.... I am a little upset about the whole thing - after all, he could of 'phoned me & told me exactly the same he told me, last night.... but, with-out the 3 hour wait !!

Anyhoo.... this morning, we went back to the hospital.... this time, to go thru' a bunch of tests on my lungs !! If ever there is a reason, to not smoke.... those tests, this morning, are cause enough !! There are only sooooo many times, you can blow into a tube, before it gets beyond a joke !! Oh well.... in the end, I passed with flying colours - so, life goes on & on.......

I just wish we had some answers to the "big question"..... but, I'll try & be a good person... and wait to see what the final out-come is. One way or another, our lives will go on - so, that's.... considering how bad things could be - that, we are grateful for !!

Right.... the family....

After our trips, yesterday & this morning..... I think B would of liked a quiet afternoon - but, more or less, as soon as we got home, ME asked her to go back out... to do a bit of shopping !! So.... the ladies are out & about someplace..... leaving J & I home alone !!

I'm actually listening to an old Bob Seger live album - 'Live Bullet' !! When we finished this morning, we went into town & I had a look at the library & found several Cd's to tempt me... including the Bob S one. Two of the tracks, as strange as it may seem... I actually put onto tape, for 'Project 87' so, it was good to know exactly where they came from !! After all these years, I had forgotten which Lp I got them from..... so, to find the Cd... well, that was bonus !!

Plus - to really cheer me up.... B bought me a 2 Cd live set, by Michael Schenker, called 'Temple Of Rock' !! I didn't know it existed - so, that was a nice treat, after everything else that has gone on !! I'll give it a play a little later on.... I need a bit of "down time" to give it a real listen !!

Oh I also picked up - from the library - The Australian Pink Floyd's 'Exposed In The Light' ("Why ?") Uriah Heep's 'Into The Wild' 3 Stephen Still's albums..... plus another Bob Seger live set called '9 Tonight' (I think). All in all - lots of music to keep me smiling a bit !!

Plus - I had an e-mail, from Lady V... "Hi"..... and the box set will be posted out soon..... so, if nothing else, I will have a few (Ho-hum) Allman Brother's live sets in the post, over the coming weeks !! It's all good !!

Alright... my plans for tonight... and what's left of the day.... none at all, other than blast some music out of the Bose & wake up the
village !! Now - that sounds like a plan to me folks......
