Meteor's & Music.....

Greetings Worlds !!

I think it's another Friday ?! Yep - I'm home (again) from the hospital - so, that makes it a Friday !! There is something, almost funny, about the hospital I attend..... I have had 4 appointments, over the last 8 days - only one of which lasted any real length of time - and then, because the Consultant was running behind time - and yet, nobody could arrange things, so I could go there on one & only one day !!

Never mind... more of all of that, in a little while !!

Things are all a bit crazy here, for me, at the moment..... but, the family are keeping things together for !! B & J are here, at home, at the time of writing. If - and its a big if  - things go right.... between them, they are going to load our two old tumble dryers, into the back of the car & take them to the re-cycling centre. I'm not convinced they will both fit, on one load, but - they are going to give it a go !!

I'm sure there will be much gnashing of teeth & tempers..... but, things might work out !! They (the dryers) have been sat outside, for at least a couple of months.... so, it's time they went to happy re-cycling centre in the sky !! Hopefully - I better mention it to the two of them.... but, hopefully, they will turn them upside down first - as I'm sure there is plenty of stale water, from the rain & snow over the last few weeks !!

Anyhoo - back to the family..... B & J are outside... as mentioned..... and ME is out at work. I think she was going to take tomorrow off - but, as she is taking some leave soon, her plans have changed. By working tomorrow - she will get one more day off.... so that's not so bad !!

I might have mentioned this before.... can't remember.... but, as part of her birthday pressy, M (her boyfriend) is taking her away, just for a couple of days !! That's kind of nice.... but, as I mentioned to her, the place they are going to, was nice in the Summer months - it might not be sooooo brilliant, in late February !!

Oh well..... she is well happy with the idea.... so, good for them !!

The guys have got one of the dryers, into the car.... now for the second one !! This should be interesting !! I will keep you posted....

As for the music of the moment... well, I'm playing the Australian Pink Floyd's album, which - I'm sure - I mentioned last week, at some point. I am not a great lover of so called "Tribute Bands"... but, if it's what rocks your boat... then, this isn't too bad an album !! But - for me, I would much rather listen to some "new" music, with one or two Floyd tracks played, as covers, during the set list !!

It took me far too long, to understand Gov't Mule....... thinking, wrongly, that they were just doing a kind of tribute show. It wasn't until I actually got around to listening to their 'Deepest End' Cd & DVD... well, was I ever wrong !! never mind..... it's all good !!

I had a nice e-mail, from Lady V..... the box set, that B has bought me, will soon be here !! Yippeeeee !! From what little I know about it (the box set)... it has about 27 live shows - well, the complete live concerts recordings, by the Allman Brothers, from 2012 !! How cool is that !! I will have so much new stuff to listening to.... well, it's a good job the guys bought me The Mini Egg..... I'm going to enjoy listening to them, while I'm stuck in the hospital !!

Now to explain, what has happened, over the last couple of days......

As mentioned last week.... I saw the Consultant, on Thursday evening, and I was really gutted. I had expected to be told, one way or another, that I was either going to have surgery - or I wasn't !! In a nut shell - I came home, fairly convinced, that the surgery was off & that was that....

However.... on Wednesday, just an hour or so, before I went out to my clinic appointment, two letters arrived. One was a copy of a letter, sent to my GP (local Dr) from the Consultant & the other was an appointment, for a "pre-op" meeting, with the same Consultant, in May !!

The first letter, despite my thoughts on the subject, seemed to indicate that the surgery was going to happen & my next visit, with the Consultant, would just formalise exactly what was going to happen & when !!

Confused ?..... well, I am !! I am going to see a second Consultant, but it seems like things are going to happen, after all & the second guy... well, is really going to give a "second opinion" over what is going to be done !! All very strange.....

Luckily - I think... the letters reached me, before I attended the
clinic !! Otherwise, I would really would of been down in the dumps - but, as it was, I went with a brighter "out-look" & the meeting went far better than I expected, or thought, just a couple of hours earlier !!

To add a little bit more "sugar" into the mix.... this morning, I had to go back to the hospital, for a medical pre-op (blood pressure etc etc) and the nurse who went thru' of that with me, was convinced - from her notes - that the surgery was going to happen.... so...... things are on the up & up !!

So - from feeling pretty fed up with life, after seeing the Consultant, last Thursday.... I am now pretty much on a high - which hopefully will last, at least until May, at which time, I'll know more about what is likely to happen !!

Oh well.... onwards, ever onwards......

The guys have gone out to the re-cycling centre now - some how, they got both of the dryers into the car !! Blooming mad, I call it........ tho' - judging by B's face, as she drove away - the things have picked up a bit of a smell, I guess from being stuck outside all these months...... never mind !! Life goes on......

As for my plans, over the weekend. Well, I don't know really, what we are likely to be doing. B has mentioned going to Church - but, I can only leave that decision with her..... as I've said before - she drives the car, I'm only the passenger !!

If I get chance, I'm going to play the last of the two Zeppelin concerts, that came a while back. I will no doubt spend a bit of time, putting stuff onto the Egg - so, while I'm doing that, I'll play the Cd's in the background !! I'm sure B will be far from impressed by my choice of music.... but, it will keep the spiders away - especially if the volume is turned down to deafening !!
