Landover May 25th 1977... Ho-hum

Greetings World's !!

It's a bright Tuesday, here in England..... and as it's about 10am - which means, I've not done anything too exciting since yesterday's post..... but.... what the heck !!

The family are all here about... well, mostly.... J & ME are upstairs... ME has just come home, from another night at work. Last night was her last of 3... so, she is off for a few days now - but, she still needed to get a bit of sleep, so she is in bed. J therefore is keeping an eye on me...... he has just looked in, to tell me North Korea has done another nuke test !! Honestly - give these countries a Lego set & there is no stopping them !!

So - if the family are "all here about"... why is J looking after me..... well, I did put a "mostly" in there. B - My Wife & Dearest Friend... well, she is here about, just in the village, not actually in the house !! Oh well - it all made some sort of sense, when it was in my brain - waiting to be typed !!

B has a meeting at the local Dr's.... then, she is off, into town, to do a gym class.... so, she will be home at about 2pm.... or there about. So - with the family taken care off.... the music of the moment is one of the 2 Led Zeppelin concerts, that reached me a few weeks back..... and which I promised I would list for you..... so, here goes !!

They were recorded during the band's 4 nights in Landover, Maryland in 1977.... this first show is from May 25th and is on 3 Cd's. The tracks are:

CD 1

1) The Song Remains The Same
2) The Rover Intro - Sick Again
3) Nobody's Fault But Mine
4) In My Time Of Dying
5) Since I've Been Loving You
6) No Quarter

CD 2

1) Ten Years Gone
2) The Battle Of Evermore
3) Going To California
4) Black Country Woman
5) Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
6) White Summer
7) Black Mountain Side
8) Kashmir

CD 3

1) Out On The Tiles Intro - Moby Dick
2) Guitar Solo
3) Achilles Last Stand
4) Stairway To Heaven
5) Whole Lotta Love
6) Rock & Roll

I might have listed this show, last year - I can't remember... but, this "new" version... well, in the main, is a soundboard recording - the old versions were all audience tapes. This - to me - is not a fantastic concert.... the s/b recording leaves it, more than a little, lame !! At least - with the audience tape - there was some sort of atmosphere.... Oh well !!

There is at least one place, where the tape is patched with an audience tape - during  'Bron-Y-Aur Stomp' for instance..... no big deal - but, if you pay money for this (which I always tell you not to) don't expect it to be a complete s/b recording ... you have been warned !!

I'll give the 2nd concert a listen soon & let you know about that... in a day or 2.... As always - don'y buy bootlegs - buy the official recordings !!

While I've been typing - I've let the Mini Egg stock up on more albums..... mostly done yesterday. I am not a computer wizard - but, I wish there was a quicker way to transfer stuff on to the Egg !! It seems to take forever !! Never mind... life is good !!

Ok - my plans for today..... well, I want to do a bit more of Project 87's transfer, onto Cd... and really, beyond that... it's going to be a very quiet day !! Tomorrow - I think - I have a visit to the clinic.... so, when I get back, or at some point, I will let you know how that
went !!

But, for now at least - I must away.... I thank you all for logging in... until next time...

Bye Bye
