Lots & lots of music.. Ho-hum !!

Greetings World's !!

It's a really strange Monday, here in the South-West of England. It started off, all bright & Sunny - now, it's gone really misty & mucky..... not exactly raining, but not really dry either !! All very weird.... very very weird !!

An hour or so ago, the nurse came to do my dressings - if you heard the screams, I'm sorry !! No, really - the dressing that was on... well, it wasn't done right, which meant things hurt, just a shade more than normal.

When I say "normal" - by my standards, it just hurt a little more than it usually does !! The nurse was very sorry about it all.... but, she said... if there is a next time, I have to call them & they will come & fix it !! I had left it, from Friday - over the weekend, to today.... so, I should not of left it so long !! No biggy - I just don't like calling them, unless it's really bad... nevermind !!

Ok - I've not written, since last Thursday.... it's been a very busy - for me, hectic, few days. With going down to Exeter on Saturday - then watching Robert Plant & Metallica.... well, it was late before I found my bed.... even later still, until I actually went to sleep..... nevermind, that was Saturday !!

Oops !! I didn't see the above, in person.... shit no - they were on TV, late into the night. Heck - I would of gone, just to see Mr Plant - but, seeing an hour of his show, via the BBC... well, that was good enough for my old bones !!

First tho' - 'The Family' !!

As I type - My Wife & Dearest Friend - B is up in her little craft space, doing some birthday cards. It seems that July is a particularly busy month, for birthdays..... I know of at least 3 - which, given my brain, is pretty good for me !!

Mind you, one of the birthdays is my very own.... so, it would be a bit of a bugger if I forgot that one !! Oh well....

As for the other members of the family.... well, we've not seen much of the cats, so far today - I suspect, if it starts to rain, they will come to the door & ask to be let in !! We do not have a cat-flap thingy, in the door.... but, that's not a problem. They always let us know, when they are about !!

As for the "human" relations - our Son, J & our Daughter ME.... well, the latter 'phoned up earlier this morning & she was in fine form !! I think she is working, this afternoon & evening...... Anyhoo..... she called mainly, to let me know some books - which I gave her - are doing well, on "e-bay" or whatever it's called !!

It seems, that there is a bit of a bidding war going on, over one of the books. When she told me - I thought they had gone mad & were about to fetch her a load of cash...... I was wrong !! They are going up, in price, but only in 20p jumps - so, it's not going to give her much, in the way of cash !! Nevermind..... !!

I don't know exactly what to write about our Son.... J ?! He has upset B, really badly..... and I just wish he would do the right thing & say a "sorry" to her, for what he has said & done !! I know he really hates my guts - but, this hatred has really very little to do, with his Mum.......

I don't really mind - if he wants to live his life, hating me..... for being a complete jerk - I can live with that !! I've been called a lot of things, in my life..... but, I wish he would say sorry to B. It's his life, it really is - but..... !! there is very little more I can say......

I'm upset about it all. Not because of how J thinks, concerning me..... more because I know how it has got to B !! If you read these words, just give your Mum a call & speak to her.... you don't have to treat her like crap, just because of your feelings towards me !!

The Sun has just broken thru' the cloud...... it's looking a lot better, outside, now !! I still can't see the sea - but, hopefully it'll stay dry. Mainly as B has to go into town later - it would be a bugger if she got wet thru'.... again !!

I say "again" - mainly because of Saturday..... to explain !!

As I wrote, last week.... there was a record fair, in Exeter, on Saturday & I really, really wanted to go !! So - after a bit of an over-sleep, on my part.... B got me all ready & off we went.

Now then - it looked quite warm & Sunny.... but, of course, because we didn't take any coats with us - it had to rain !! B only had a light shirt on - so, she really did feel it.... I wasn't so bad, at least I had a heavy jumper thingy on - which kept out most of the cold, if not all of the wet !!

It was a great day tho' - I got to meet up with a couple of friends, spent way, way too much money on Cd's & cases..... but, it was really good to go around the shops - I even got B to buy herself something, in one of her favourite shops !! To get B to buy anything, for herself, is really hard work - but, on Saturday..... well, she came home with a new bag & purse thingy....... I wish she had bought the matching hand bag, but - I guess, that would of been asking for too much !!

As for me - I did really well & - in another way - quite badly !! Nothing that can't be fixed tho' & that's for sure !! Where to start...... in no real order, what so ever... I came home with:

So - I might have forgotten one or two things.... but those above, are the ones in front of me !! That was "did really well" part of the day.

The "quite badly" part... well, that was coming home & finding one of the 3 Cd sets, had disc 2 missing !! That is a bit of a bummer..... also - I had pre-ordered some Cd cases...... when I undid all of the packaging last night..... I found I had been short changed, by 20 cases !! I know - at these types of things... it's buyer beware, but !!

I'm quite lucky, in as much as I know the guys, who I got most of the stuff from + they know me.... I don't think I have ever had any need to mess around with them, in the past - so, they know I wouldn't have a "moan" about anything, that I've got from them, unless it was a genuine thingy !!

But - apart from the 2 missing things... I had a great day !! It was also very, very funny.... As we were leaving the hall, just after the record fair, we saw something sooooo off the wall, that you had to be there, to see it !!

We were just sheltering from the rain, when a police car went by, very slowly... followed by a police man, on a pushbike, also going quite slowly. Then, with-out warning.... a naked man went by, on his pushbike - followed by another 20 or so naked people..... it was so surreal, to be almost like something out of Monty Python !!

To see them, in the rain... on their bikes, cycling up thru' the main shopping street in Exeter - well, it certainly made hundred of people laugh & cheer them, as they went by.... it was really stupidly brilliant & very funny !!

It seems it was part of a World wide protest, over pollution & stuff.... well, that's what the local newspaper called it - me, I just thought it was brilliant, like one of those moments.... as I say, you had to see, to take it all in !!

Anyways... that was Saturday....

Oh - I forgot.... on Friday, we had a really bad thunderstorm - so, I left the computer un-plugged, from the mains & stuff - just incase we got hit again !! Several years ago... we had a near-miss, with a lightning strike.... which, unfortunately took out the computer & various bits & bobs !! Luckily, we had insurance - so it was all covered....... Our neighbour had his TV Sky dish & box taken out - so, it wasn't just us. But, that's why I didn't post anything..... from Thursday, up until today !! I wasn't just being a lazy so & so !!

Back to music & away from naked men...

The music of the moment is the Blue Floyd live set.... it's not too bad, as far as Floyd cover tracks & bands go, I'm only on Cd one...the tracks are:

I know nothing at all, about this group... other than what I'm listening to, as I type !! It's pretty good - in it's own little way, especially the jam sessions !! I'm really impressed with it.... well good !!

That's what I like about my friends... "here, take this & give a listen"...... those type of friends !! They expect nothing from you & are really quite happy to let you have some of their stock - just to listen
to.... if I don't like it, I can let them have it back - but, as that won't be, until August... by then, I will have given it a good listen !!

Going back, to Saturday night... Metallica were given a good bit of coverage, on the BBC... as I said above. They were not everybody's first choice, to headline, the main stage - but, from what I've heard, it was a good concert !! Also - seeing how there were a lot of moans about them, the crowd got really into it & sang along to a load of the tracks.

For me tho' - the encore of 'Whiskey In The Jar' - the very old Thin Lizzy track - well, that, for me... it was brilliant & that's all I can really say. If you get chance - go onto the BBC's news site & then over to "i-player" (or whatever it's called) and you can listen & watch about 90 minutes of the show, well good !!

Ok - my plans for the rest of the day...... well, I'm just going to leave the music playing & read one of my books - that sounds like a plan to me !!
