Max Webster - But no maggots !!

Greetings World's !!

I think it's a Saturday, here in the South-West of England... it seems to be a warm day - but, even tho' it's about 1pm - I've yet to venture outside !! I'm not being lazy... just haven't needed to go out of the house !!

As I type, the family - that is to say, My Wife & Dearest Friend - B is upstairs, fighting her way thru' a bunch of old files. Each one has bits & bobs of stuff, going back years !! Her plan is to throw away, everything that is older than January this year.... hopefully then, the files can be either dumped, or just left for another day.....

I'm glad to say, my stairlift has come in useful.... B was able to move the heavier stuff, up the stairs, on the chair itself !! I never really wanted the thing - but, as time has gone along.... and as my health has gone down hill, I wouldn't be without the thingy !!

So - that just leaves me....

I've been up & about for what seems hours.... having woken up around 4am !! B was the same.... tho' not quite sooooo early - in the end, we came down stairs, got some juice & breakfast.... before going back to bed & (eventually) back to sleep !!

Oh - I better explain, about the other members of the "family"......

Our Daughter ME - for those who are reading this, for the first time - has moved in with her long suffering partner M...... they will be called the M & M's.... eventually (my word of the day) get used to just calling them that.... it's just going to take time !!

As for our Son.... J - well, we've had a parting of the ways. I've asked him to consider coming home, for the Summer.... B has asked him, to do the same - but, he has decided he is not safe here - so, he is "not coming back"..... or words to that effect !! The door will remain open to him..... but, in the end, it's his decision !! Life will go on.... in one way or another & that's a fact !!

As for the music of the moment... well, to explain !!

With ME moving out & J deciding not to come home... we have found a load of extra space - as you can imagine, especially in our Son's room !! Anyhoo... this means that some of the stuff, that has been down here, is now upstairs. With that in mind - it means that B has her own craft room now & I have a load of extra shelf space, for the Cd's & DVD's !!

I sorted out a whole load of cassette tapes.... and, this past few days, I've been re-arranging the Cd's. Believe me, they needed sorting
out !!

This morning, I've managed to get as far as the J's - Jefferson Airplane, Judas Priest, Jethro Tull and so on.... but, I've decided to take a break - to write these words & to listen to a Lou Reed live Cd. It was mixed up with some other stuff - so, I wanted to give it a listen.

As mentioned - I think - I bought a double Cd set of 'Lou Reed;' & 'Transformer' a short while ago, in our local second hand record shop....... I seem to be playing a lot of Lou's stuff lately !! Oh well.....

I'm not sure, if I wrote anything, yesterday..... no brain you see.... but..... I finally got a copy of 'Universal Juveniles' by Max Webster !! I have waited a very long time, to get this on Cd... and now it's here !! "Yippeeee !!"

The album came out, around 1980 - and I used to have it on Lp. The main reason, for getting it in the first place, was simply for track 5 'Battle Scar' !!

I first heard it, on 'The Friday Night Rock Show' - many, many Moons ago..... I'm guessing it was either Fluff Freeman or Tommy Vance, who played it.... but, that one track just jumped into my memory, because it has Rush making up the numbers, on it !! It's really good & - I must be honest - I always regretted selling the Lp !! Nevermind..... I have a Cd copy now - I highly recommend it, so if you see it about, go & treat yourselves !!

Going back, to yesterday..... I had my visit to the torture chamber, also known as the Dr's - where I had my dressings changed - again !!

But - there is light at the end of the long tunnel..... you know, the tunnel that has been making up the biggest part of my life, this past 13 or so months, since the surgery, in May 2013....

As probably mentioned, a few weeks ago - the Consultant, in Exeter, wanted me to go back onto another Vac pump thingy. This will the 4th time around.... using a pump & - even tho' - he put me on one, before my last surgery..... he seems to have forgotten that ?! Anyhoo.....

On Wednesday, this week - the nurse, who does my dressings, said she had heard from the nurse, in charge of doing the whole pump thing & it would be sorted out...... given enough time & a load of e-mails.....

But - yesterday - I was offered the chance of having "maggot therapy" !! I kid you not.... they wanted to put live maggots, into the wound - who, I understand, would eat away at the tissue & in the hope of cleaning it up a bit !!

I immediately said a very firm "No" !!

I really do want this thing to come to an end - with the hole in my back sorted out & healed over..... but, I am not having maggots crawly over the bloody thing !! I don't think the nurse was too happy with my answer....

But, as I wrote last year.... when they wanted to feed me thru' a pipe in my nose - why should I have something, I don't want, for something that is not my fault !!

Ok - it's nobodies fault, I understand that...... infections happen - but, if things had been done differently, last Summer... I don't think I would be in this position !! I am not having maggots in the wound & that's an end to it !! F**k that !!

Even B was pretty amazed about it - claiming I would be sleeping alone, if I went & agreed to it !! I had already said "No" - before she said that..... but, even so.... it ain't going to happen !! I was surprised - after all this time - that it was even suggested... oh well !!

When I was in the hospital - last year - B & I thought they were trying new stuff out, on me, every week - to try & get the hole fixed...... I guess they are still trying !! Maggots ?! - "No way" !!

Anyways... I had a 'phone call, late in the afternoon.... from the nurse... and, on Monday, they are going to come around to the house, with a pump, and fit in, here at home. I don't mind that - it means I won't have to go & have the dressings changed so much.... well, I hope not !! Time will tell, on that.... !!

I'll have to give the pump a name tho' - the last one was called "Sagan".... so, I'll stick with the whole planet Mars thing & come up with something !!

Staying with yesterday.... The Church Missionaries came around to the house again !! Heck - they're keen - I'll give them that !! I think they are hoping to get me, back into going to the services, on Sundays. - but, that will not happen, until The Bishop comes here & apologizes for his actions, last year !!

I'm not having maggots & I'm not going back to The Church, until The Bishop comes over & says a "sorry" for keeping me out of The Chapel !! To me - he was out of line..... and that's a fact !!

The missionaries are coming back, on Thursday...... B won't be here, but....... if they want to visit, I don't mind. As I say, they are keen !!

Oh well.... My plans for the rest of the day.....

Well, I want to carry on, sorting the Cd's out - but, I've almost had enough of doing that - for today, at least !! My back won't let me do too much, with-out reminding me - usually with a very sharp pain !! Nevermind....

I might start reading 'The Lord Of The Rings' again..... I need something new, now that I've finished 'Game Of Thrones' !! Now - that sounds like a plan....... even if I just listen to the guy reading the
book !! Ok - I know it's about 50 Cd's long.... the "talking book" thingy.... but, it does sound like a plan to me !!

I must go....
