A Walk On The Wild Side... (well, nearly)

Well Greetings Worlds !!

How is your bit of the Internet treating you ? I'm kind of floating around here - and I'm not just talking about the morphine I take !! I seem to be having a great "run" of music, blasting away thru' the old Bose !! I'll explain about that later... or try to, again.....

But first, the family.....

B has gone into town, mainly to pick up some foodstuffs & put some cash in the bank.....if all goes well, and it hasn't so far today, she will also take in a spell at the gym, to do a little work out thingy !!

She was going earlier... but, the car wouldn't start !!  It turned out, one of the doors wasn't shut properly - so, since she last drove it, a little light (inside the car) had been burning away & that was enough to run the battery down !! Bummer !!

Anyhoo - we called out the AA (we've got a full family membership) and the nice man, in his bright yellow van, came along & got her started !! So - she was a little late in leaving... but, she is on her ways now !! Oh I forgot - she also missed a hair appointment..... so, as I said above.. things hadn't gone very well for my Wife & Dearest Friend this morning !!

As for the rest of the family.... ME is at work again today... she seems to be doing a lot of days at the moment - hopefully she will get a rest soon !! Which just leaves J - who is here keeping an eye on me, incase I need any help !!

I'm Ok tho'....... no need for help at the moment !!

The music of the moment is a brilliant old track by Robert Plant, which was on an old 12 inch single, called 'Far Post'.... it's probably one of my favourite tracks by him, even tho' it's well old now !!

I remember going to see him, in concert, in about 1983....he played most of his 2 albums, so I kept shouting out for 'Far Post'... but, he never played it... oh well !! My loss... it was a great concert tho'.... and, as I say - one of a great run of music, that seems to be playing today !!

I'm still putting the old 'Project 87' tapes onto Cd... hence, the great music !! So many, many memories !! I really am enjoying listening to the old stuff.... Phil Collins' 'Against The Odds' is playing now... from the old 'Live Aid' concert, in 1985.... ah, so many memories & so much music !!

Just staying with music... the track of yesterday has to have been 'Junior Dad' from the 'Lulu' Cd, by Lou Reed & Metallica. I've no real reason, for my choice... it just hooked on to me yesterday & I played it a couple of times - so, that's the track of yesterday !!

Today's track of choice... well, it has to be Roy Harper's 'Me & My Woman' !! I love this track & it's playing as I type...... I think it's the 4th time I've played it today... so..... more another day....

Yesterday, well... being a Sunday, I would of liked to have gone to Church... but, we no longer "belong" to our old Church... read earlier posts, for the reason why... well, we didn't go - so, that's about the end of it really !! I think we'll start attending another Church... just so that we can keep going, even if it it is not exactly in our area !!  Time will tell on that one, I guess......

I did do something really off the wall, yesterday tho'........

To try & explain......

I usually get around, in my wheelchair. It's one that I push myself - not electric or any thing as new fangled as that... anyhoo, a few days ago, I asked B to help me, go for a little walk - just to the end of the close & back. It was only a few yards... maybe 150 metres or there about...... nothing major !! Anyways - yesterday, B wanted to go down to the local shop.... and I decided to walk a little of the ways, with her !!

I didn't go the full distance - but, just down the hill, to a bench thingy, where I waited for her !! I guess it was about 500 metres in total... but, I really am happy with myself, for managing to do it !! I was completely knackered, by the time I got home !!

In the end, I landed up in bed, to sleep it off... but, for me, it was really a long walk & I'm kind of proud of myself, for doing it & everything that went with it !! One of our better neighbours saw me & told me, I would be racing another neighbour around soon.... I don't think I'm up to that, just yet... but, I enjoyed the walk !!
