Rock & Roll, I Gave You The Best Years Of My Life"

Greetings Worlds !!

It's another Friday here in "Old England"..... question, how can a country be classed as "old" when, there are people like me, who are finding new parts of it, all the time ?! Ok - I don't get out much, anymore - but.... I'm sure if we went someplace today, I would see something "New" !! So - the question really should be.... how can things new, still greet us, in a country we've grown up in ?! All too heavy, this early in the morning !!

Nevermind.... it's the end of another week... well, almost & I'm sat here 'home alone' (until J gets out of bed) listening to the fantastic Grateful Dead and their 'Closing the Winterland' 4 Cd set.  I'm only onto track 3 - I doubt if I'll listen to the whole thing, but.... it's a great way to open the day with !!

ME is at work, another 8-8 day for her... J - as I say - is in bed... which leaves B... who has made the decision, to go & see her Dad !!  Long story, made short....

B's Dad wants to sell his 3 bedroom house, and move into a 1 bedroom apartment place.  He's pushing 300 years old & is - so he says - finding the bigger place too much..... me, well - he is kind of aged, but... I think he wants the cash, more than he wants to move !! Nevermind... that's up to him !! I will say this tho' - whenever he has cash - he spends it quicker than a hot knife thru' thin butter !!

Anyways... this has caused a split in the lovely B's family.  B has said - and I agree - it's his place & it's up to him, what he does with it !! Her Brother, on the other hand, is more about money, than a tight banker looking at the end of year profits !! He is totally against the house sell - mainly as he's a jerk, but also... if the big house gets sold, there will be less in the pot, when B's Dad finally passes away !! The Brother is really only interested in one thing - the cash - he really couldn't give a damn about his Dad's needs or wants..... just the bottom line & how much he'll get out of it !!

So...... B has been invited up to see her Dad.. as he wants to give her a load of stuff, making sure it gets passed down the family line, rather than - thinking about his Son - it getting sold on !! B has gone up - as I say, at her Dad's request... but, I'm sure there will be more to all of this, as the days go on... time will tell, I guess !!

Right... I didn't post anything yesterday.... I had a very weird one, indeed !! I had to go down to the Dr's - here in the village - at about 10.20 in the morning.... which was fun !! It was the first time I had seen him, since I had come out of hospital.... and, more importantly, since he said, there was nothing wrong with the last x-rays, he had ordered !!

For those who have not kept up with the story.....

My Dr had ordered some x-rays & decided they were fine.  A very short while later, another Dr saw me & i was sent into hospital, for more x-rays.... from there, I had 2 weeks, stuck in the hospital.... + a very upset Consultant, who was kind of pissed, I hadn't been sent to see him before !!

Nevermind... yesterday went well. My local Dr was all full of "sorry's" for this, that & the other... and put me on some more pills, as per the hospital's request. So - I have 4 more pills to take, everyday..... this time, the pill version, as well as the liquid version of morphine. Honestly - I'm spending more & more of my days, stoned out of my brain !!

I only started them yesterday... but, so far... they are making me a little sick, in the guts !! I hope the feeling will pass, as they seem to be tackling the pain, but - that's not a lot of fun, if you feel like crap !! We'll see how things go, I guess....

So - feeling a little poorly, I gave up on posting & headed to bed, for what I thought would be a short sleep... but - in the end, lasted for a few hours !! Nevermind...

Anyhoo - I didn't write about yesterdays "track of the day"..... It turned out to be an old single, by Kevin Johnson, called 'Rock & Roll, I Gave You The Best Years Of My Life'. I was probably the only person in the World, who bought this, back in about 1973.... but, I really loved it !! Then, yesterday morning, when I woke up - the radio was on - in the kitchen - and they were playing it again !! So - that had to be yesterday's track of the day..... as yet, I've not found one for today.... but, it's early yet !!

News on the whole thing, about Church..... we've had phone calls & text's.. e-mails & cards, all from Church members over the last few days or so !! I think the word is spreading, we're not overly happy at the moment !! I will keep you posted on that... as it goes along !!

Ok - my plans for today...... I've spent a great load of time, sticking stuff on the Ipod's ready for my next stay in hospital stay - but, I want to take a break to day, so.... I'm going to try & put some tracks, from the old 'Project 87' tapes, over to Cd !! I can't do them all in one go.... but, I think I will make a start on them !!

If nothing else, I can maybe do one or two tapes... it will be fun to get going on them....... well, I think it will be !! if I don't make a start, it will never get done... and that's for sure !!
