Roy Harper & a quiet day.

Greetings Worlds !!

It's a very snowy, very white, South West of England.... here in my little part of the Internet Universe !!

For those of you, who read my words.... well, outside of our little area... the snow started latish, last night. It was expected - for once, the forecaster's got things right - and as the night went on, it got a bit deeper.... buy, nowhere near as bad as we thought !!

This morning, ME was due to start work at 8am.... and she got herself all ready to go, as usual. Following a kind of "will I, won't I" kind of thing - B & I took her car down the village, to check out the main road.... and, once we got back (the road was quite clear).... well, B drove her down & from the bottom of the village, ME went off on her happy way....... reaching work about 8.15 !! Not bad... considering it was her first real trip out, into the white stuff, in her new car !!

At the moment, it's clearing up a bit... so, by tonight, it should blow thru'. I'm not sure what time ME will be home, but... well, she'll be fine !!

Ok.... at the moment, B is here behind me (in the kitchen) doing some baking.... J is upstairs, on his computer (I guess) & I'm sat here, kind of listening to the 1pm news. The whole Lance Armstrong thing is getting shed loads of coverage, at the moment.

My only problem with the drug thing.... Armstrong wasn't caught out, at the time he was racing.... so, how all these over riders, who claim - at the time they were racing - they were clear of drugs... well, how do we know ?

Armstrong wasn't caught... so, how do we know how "clean" the other riders were at the time ?! Never mind - it's a good job I'm not going thru' any drug checks - I would light up the whole board !!

I mentioned last time... I think... that I had started to get dates, for various things... leading up to the next surgery. Well, I now how 4 separate dates, to go into the hospital.... the latest being for a check up of my lungs !! All very strange !! It seems that I will be needing all my lung power, during & after the surgery - so, I have to go & get them checked out..... It's the first time I've had to go thru' all of the tests, but.... there is a first time for everything !!

As yet, I've no actual date, for the surgery itself - but, the way things are moving... well, I don't think it will be too many months away !!

We've talked about it (the surgery) as a family.... mainly as it's probably the biggest one I've ever had - probably beating all of the "biggie's" I have had over the last 12 years, since first being diagnosed

But, as a family - well, with the family here for support and Our Lord in my heart.... I know things will be tough, but... we'll get through it !!

ME - bless her - in her "I'm a qualified nurse" mode - has told me very bluntly.... "it's going to really hurt".. but, I know that, so - I just have to take the whole pain thing, on the chin & thank those involved, for their careful guidance, as well as saying a few prayers to help me past it all !!

When I was in hospital, in November/December.... I told those who asked me... about how long it was going to get things right... it would be fixed by December this year  and I don't think I'm going to be too far wrong !! Time will tell... as I always say !! To quote Mr Kelly "Such is life" !!

I've put some Tangerine Dream on the Cd deck.... it's from one of their early live albums 'Ricochet'  and is playing quite nicely in the back ground !!

Which reminds me... Yesterday's track of the day, was another Roy Harper wonder track. 'Highway Blues' and today's track is - has to be 'Jessica' by The Allman Brothers Band !! Two great tracks !! Give them a listen.......

In the post - I think yesterday, I had the 2 'new' Zeppelin shows reach me. They are both from Landover, in 1977 - the band played several nights there..... and these 2 shows, well - I've had them for a long time, but.. these are far better tapes !! When I can get around to it, I will give them a listen & put down a complete track listing, for you !!

Ok - today's plans.... I'm still transferring tapes, over to Cd... which is fine, as long as I concentrate - if not, I do what I did this morning & screw up a couple of blank Cd's !! Nevermind... it happens !! I'm also trying to put as music as I can, onto the iPod thingy.... so far, I've put over 2,000 tracks onto the thing... but, as it seems like I'm going to be stuck in hospital, for more than a little while... well, I want to put as much as I can, on the thing !!

Apart from that... I'm having a quiet day... well, as quiet as it can be, with various bits of music blasting away !! For now tho', I must away.... I thank you all for logging in... until next time....
