Thinking about concerts & stuff....

Greetings World's..

I hope your little bit of the universe is treating you well, this fine
day ?! Well - I say "fine day"... mainly as it's bright here in England.... B took me down to the village, about 10 this morning, for a hair cut & it was really cool, but very bright - with the Sun, poking thru' the few clouds that were out there, at the time !!

Never mind... I've had my 6 weekly hair cut - which is kind of good... I used to go about once every 6 months, before 2007 !! Honestly - those of you, who know me, will remember the "pony tail" era !! Ok - that was then... back to the now... well, actually, a little bit into the future.

As I'm expecting a "long" (well, longer than usual) stay in the hospital... I've made arrangements, with the lady who does my hair, to have it cut short, just before I go in, for the surgery..... that ways, if I'm stuck in the place for over the month or two, my hair will be Ok & not getting too out of hand !!

It's the little things, while I'm in hospital, that make the difference... between a good stay, or a very bad stay !! I kid you not...... from experience, I really hate it when something "small" happens & it bugs me.... sometimes more than the pain, or whatever surgery I've had done !!

Anyways - onwards......

ME was expecting to go into work, this afternoon... for some kind of training thingy... but, that has been called off - so, she has taken B out to do a bit of shopping. Our Daughter really gets fed up, if she is stuck at home, for too long !! So, they've gone out together... which leaves J here to look after me & to help - a little later - when someone comes over, to have a measure up, for a stair lift !!

I'm not 100% how is actually coming over, but it's to measure up & sort out a quote, to have it (the stair lift) the whole thing fitted etc
etc !! I'm not really too happy, about having it fitted - but, as things are going, I will be glad of it's help... in the not so far, future !!

Even tho' I don't feel I want a lift put in - I know it's for the best, long term... so, I will let things go ahead & have done with it. I'm not sure, when the person (people) are coming - but it's sometime this afternoon - so....

Right...

The music of the moment is a U2  DVD.... which ME has loaned to me...... I didn't realise it existed  so.. it's a bit of a bonus, to have it to listen to. I'm not actually watching the thing - I'm just playing it & listening to the sound track !!

It was recorded in Italy, in 2005 & was part of a 2 disc package, featuring 18 singles, as well as the DVD. I'm using the Cd, to add to the iPod collection.... I've got over 7,000 tracks on it, so far - so, I have plenty to listen to !!

As for the track of the day... well, for no other reason, than I like it, I've picked The White Stripes 'I Fought Piranhas'. I was playing the Cd earlier & I just loved hearing it again, sooooo - that's the track of the day !!

Heck - I've just realised - it's the last day of the month !! Wow.... where have those 31 days gone ?!

Right... about concerts...... & stuff....

I'm just thinking about the concerts, that I've been to, over the many Moon's of this life of mine..... and, I'm just interested to know.... which is your favourite type of concert ? Do you prefer to go to a small concert hall - or, do you like going to the big outdoor arena shows.... or even the festival type shows ?!

I know the latter have a life of their own. It's not just about the music - it also includes the "event" of being there..... camping in a tent, or in some ways of staying at the whole festival.... so, which do you - my readers - like attending ?! Your thoughts on the subject are welcome.... just leave a comment, or e-mail.... I would be glad to read your thoughts on the subject !!

For me - I used to really enjoy the out door, festival type of shows..... some of the concerts, at Knebworth, in the 1970's were just mind melts !! But, I've been to some great & some - not so great - indoor shows !! Seeing Lynyrd Skynyrd, on their first UK concert tour... supporting Golden Earring... was really amazing - as was my first ever "proper" concert... with Canned Heat, at the Royal Albert Hall, in London.... I will always have some fantastic memories, looking back....

Anyhoo - give me your thoughts on the subject..... I will look forward to hearing from you !!

Talking of memories & stuff......

I went to the 'clinic' again, yesterday & had a great "chat" with the lady I see there. I won't go into all of the details, but... it's been a fantastic help, to see & talk with her... So, B (yep another B) if you ever read these words - in front of the whole wide World - I thank you for all of your help !! I'm going to miss our sessions together !! Onwards.....

.... The DVD has come to an end - it was less than an hour long, which is a bit tight !! Oh well...... I'm now playing some Roky Erickson - and that's always a treat !! But - I must away...
