Dr Who stamps & Golden Earring......

Greetings Worlds !!

For those of us, who celebrate this weekend - a happy Easter to you all !! For those of us, who do not celebrate this weekend - well, a happy Easter to you as well !! It's Good Friday & I'm more or less home alone. To explain....

J is going away for the weekend... and B has just taken him into the train station, in order for him to get a thingy, up to Bath.... or wherever it is he is headed. So - with ME in bed & fast asleep - after doing another nigh shift (last night).... well, that leaves me here on my own !!

The music of the moment, I think, is a Pink Floyd 1975 USA concert........ well, I know it's Pink Floyd & I'm pretty certain on the rest of the details - but, as it was in a case, with no writing on it (at all) I'm kind of working blind here !!

It is a bootleg - and as I've said many times before, don't buy bootlegs..... so, I'm guessing it's on where it might be from - so, I'll forget about all of that.... locations & stuff...... well, for now, at least. IF the band say - "Hi - it's nice to be back in New York" or something.... well.... that would be helpful !!

Right - regular readers will have noticed, that I didn't write anything yesterday...... I had great plans - but, nothing came of them !! I landed up spending a whole bunch of the day, going thru' the piles of Cd's that are laying around me, even now, as I type !!

Things started off well........ I was able to put artwork, alongside various recordings.... stuff that had been sent to me..... but, then I hit the proverbial wall !! As best as I can work out - when J gave me his old computer, a week or two back, stuff that I had on my old hard drive.. well, it got "lost" in the transfer, from
mine to his !!

So - all the stuff I had hoped to find... well, it's lost & I'll have to live with it & just cry myself to sleep.... thinking about all the stuff I should of printed up earlier, which is now gone - probably forever !! Nevermind - I will adjust & try to find what I'm looking for, on some of the Internet sites. My life will go on - which is a kind of a shame really........ oh well !!

Something I should of written about, before - but, I kept forgetting about, is something B bought for me, at the start of the week !! The absolutely fantastic Dr Who celebration stamps - they are brilliant, they really are .... and not only has she bought me two first day covers, but also the brilliant presentation pack !!

There are 11 Dr's stamps - featuring all of the actors (in character).... including Paul McGann. Plus another 1st class stamp, featuring the Tardis - and I have 4 (I think) 2nd class stamps.... of various guys. The Ood, Cyberman, Weeping Angel & (od course) a Dalek !! Well good..........

I am not a massive Dr Who fan.... in fact, I can safely say... I don't have any of the shows on DVD - unless, I've recorded one or two by accident..... but, I wanted to the stamps - mainly as.... well, I just
did !!

For the record - I'm not even a stamp collector...... but, I really wanted these - so, My Wife & Dearest Friend, bought them for me.... bless her little cotton socks !! They are really great & - no matter where you are, around the World.... try & get yourself a set... they're pretty good !!

I just thought of something... about stamp collecting. If you come into our home - going up the stairs, into the landing area, you will find about 10 or 11 first day covers, all framed up & hanging from the walls. I mention these - as, well.... they are from a past life & as I had them - I decided to get them framed & strung up !! But, I am not a stamp collector - I just have a few about the place !! Onwards...

Back to music - I had a great surprise, yesterday. I used to have a Lp copy of Golden Earring 'Live'. Well - as I probably mentioned before - when I was transferring the tapes over to Cd, I found 'Eight Miles High' from the album & I decided to try & get a Cd of the thing.

Long story, made short - I ordered, what I thought, was 2nd hand copy of the thing & when it came, it turned out to be brand new !! So - bargain..... I'm not going to moan about that one !! I've played the odd track or 2 & it's pretty good....... even if I'm not a great GE fan !! Oh well....

My plans for today... well, I want to finish up these odd Cd's & then kick back & have a bit of a rest. I'm not having too many great nights at the moment - I even found myself on the floor again, last night - so.... I want to ease back a bit !! No biggy.....

I'm not sure if we're going to Church, on Sunday.... that's down to B & her piloting skill on the day - I will no doubt let you all know how things go !! For now tho' I will away... too many Cd's & not enough hours in the day, to try to put them away !! Thank you all, for taking the time to log in & read my words......... until next time....
