Well "Hello" Worlds !!

Greetings from the wild South-West of England...... I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but yesterday was "Pi" Day" - so I hope you all had a good one !! I spent the day, quietly going around the shops, with the ladies of the household....... lot of fun !! Nevermind...... onwards......

Talking of the ladies..... ME has taken B for another "joy ride" into the shopping areas. They left a short while ago - I wasn't really asked, if I wanted to go - so, just as they left, I made a "it's alright, I didn't really want to go with you" kind of comment !! I was then offered the chance to go - but...... to be honest, I would rather stay in the house today !!

So - with the ladies out..... J is on hand, to keep an eye on me....... making sure I don't get up to anything in the "mischief" kind of
sense !! I mean - there are hundreds of pills & potions, here in the homestead - so, if I felt the need (again).... well, I could get very stoned, very quickly - or better still........ !!

Going back a couple of days - the World has a new Pope !! I missed the actual moment, that the smoke came out, of the chimney, white...... but, our BBC news service went right to it - as soon as it became clear, a new guy had been voted into office !!

So - my congratulations to the whole Catholic World..... Jorge Mario Bergoglio (I think that's right) has now become Pope Francis & everybody seems very happy with the choice !! I've only seen a few minutes of the guy - but, he seems really great....... I wonder if he likes music ?

Talking of which - as I type, I'm listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan doing 'Voodoo Chile'....... from (probably) his first live album, tho' I'm not sure what the actual name of it was !! It's one of the tracks, on the next part of my Project '87 tape transfer, so it has to be an early live album - mainly as the guy died, only a few years later !!

I can't actually remember, the exact year, that he died - but, somewhere here about, I have a picture of him on stage, just a few moments before the end of his last show !! That's kind of weird.....

Talking of dying - I had to go back & see my local Dr - yesterday morning. I've been getting far too much pain lately & I need to get something sorted out - to try & get on top of it all !! I can stand most things - but - when it gets to the point, that I'm stuck (in pain) almost, all of my waking hours..... well, things need to get sorted !!

Anyhoo - it seems that actually killing myself is not a great solution to the problem, so he has messed around with what I'm taking - in the hope, that things will get better......... I still think killing myself, sounds like a great option - but, it's a bit "final" !!

We will have to wait & see how this new "cocktail" of drugs work...... or, if I finally have the next surgery, how that will help things !! At the moment - well..... I am getting very fed up with it all..... getting very low & everything that goes with it !! One thing about being asleep, the pain goes away !! Oh well...... I'll see how these pills work now !!

B's Dad 'phoned yesterday...... he had an appointment, at the same hospital, that I go to - and he actually saw the same Consultant, that is going to do my next surgery !! When he 'phoned - he went on about how nice the guy was & everything..... just the same as we have found him !! So - it's great that the guy is "nice" to all of his clients & not just a few of us !!

It turns out - that B's Dad is not going to have any form of surgery...... but, he is heading towards his '80s - so, maybe my Consultant, thinking his (Dad's) age played a factor, in deciding what could & couldn't be done. I know "age" shouldn't be a factor - in deciding heath care - but, it obviously does...........

The music has just changed to Pink Floyd's 'Echoes' - one of their greatest tracks !! When 'Atom Heart Mother' came out - the music rag, that I used to read - called it their "most human record" to date..... well, I think this one is better !!

I used to really look out, for live' albums - when I was collecting stuff - all those many moons ago..... and I think I first heard this ('Echoes') live, when they played it on a BBC 'In Concert' programme. That was about 1971..... I made a really crap copy of it - onto tape, at the time, but - I was sooooo happy with it !! Now - I've probably got upwards of 30 various copies of the track..... something I never dreamed of, all those years ago !! Oh well...... me & my music........

I forgot to mention..... I picked up a copy of Rory Gallagher's 'Notes From San Francisco' 2 Cd set, yesterday - while we were in town. I played a bit of it, last night & it's sounds pretty good !! I also picked up 'A Hot Piece Of Grass' by Hayseed Dixie....... for no other reason than, the last track is 'Duelling Banjo's'  - so, that's got to be worth 5 minutes of my time !! I'll probably put it, onto the Mini Egg & listen to it that ways..... again ........ me & my music.....

There is a record fair, in Exeter, tomorrow..... but, it's unlikely we'll go down to it. If we had a shed load of money, to spend.... well - that would be different, but.... as it is, we need all of our cash this weekend &, besides, I'm not 100%.... so, we will probably miss this one. There will be one, in the Summer - so, I'll try & go down for that one..... Time will tell........

Ok - my plans for today......

Well - I've got nothing major thought out, to do..... so, it will be just me, the music & a few more pills I guess !! I know - to some people - that might sound like Heaven..... but, believe me.... with the pain, it gets very dull, very quickly !! Oh well..... I guess it depends on what time of pills...... "Nurse, more morphine please! !! Ho-hum......

I thank you all for logging in & taking the time to read my words...... in a little over 2 weeks, it will be 3 years since I first started to write this blog....... "Wow" !! I thank you all..... until next time........ when there will be less moaning & probably more music....ho-hum... until next time...
