Greetings Worlds !!
How is your bit of the Universe treating you ?! It's kind of wet & cold here - looking out of the window, there is this low bank of cloud, which means I have no hope of seeing the beach !! Nevermind....
At the moment, there are only two of us at home. My good self & J - who has just come in, with a bundle of logs. I'm not going to light the fire, just yet.... but, they will come in handy, a little later.
As for the ladies of the house.... ME is at work, on some kind of training thing & B has gone into town, to pays some bills & do a little bit of shopping. I'm not sure what time, either of them will be home..... but, I'll see them - when they get here !!
As for the music of the moment... well, it's a live Canned Heat Cd. I was looking thru' the Heat stuff - on the shelf - ready for putting on the Mini Egg.... and I found a CDR, with nothing but Canned Heat 'live' written on it, so.... I'm giving it a quick play, to try & work out exactly what it is.
To be honest - I think it's an old Fox Theater show.... but, I've lost all the track listings for it, so I'll try & list them as I listen !!
Back to yesterday... we had a great surprise, in the post !! Two fantastic T shirts from Lady V !! They're fantastic.... especially with the lettering on them. B's has her's with Allman's widow on it - basically, as she has to put up with me listening to the albums at the moment !! They're really great...... thank's Lady V !!
I also see - since yesterday - my Russian reader has been busy, reading my words !! I thank you for your time - as I thank all of you, for logging in & everything........ it's great to know you are there !!
There was a "Budget".... yesterday, which you might of heard about, on your various news stations. One thing has pissed me off - well, more than one thing..... but.... I am fed up of the impression, that many of the MP's of this country give, about people not working !! Yesterday's Budget - according to our Prime Minister, was designed to help "all the hard working, tax payers, in the country" !! Shit boss - what about the rest of us ?!
As I've said many times...... I worked for most of my life, until my health went down hill, and I'm now in the position I'm in !! I didn't ask for this - I went from working 7 days a week, on the farms, to now..... to where I am now !! How about a little help, for those of us who were "hard working tax payers" & are now struggling with our day to day lives !!
The politicians seem to think we (people like myself) are almost invisible & don't really count for much...... oh well, that's my moan of the day !! I do feel that I would be better off dead - bugger it all !!
This Cd - the Canned Heat one, I mentioned above - is pretty good !! I think it was recorded about the same time as 'The House Of Blue Lights' album.... as, some, of the tracks, are being introduced as 'new' ones & that's tracks from the 'Blue Lights' album...... They've just introduced John Lee Hooker - so, it's getting better by the
minute !!
Are there any Abenaki people out there, reading these words ? I hope I've spelt that right !! Anyhoo - I found a phrase, that goes along, with what i was writing about (I think) yesterday....... we live on the outskirts of a village & - it seems - that "awasiwi odanak" - means "beyond the village". It's brilliant what you find on on DVD's of 'The West Wing' !!
I know we don't live exactly "beyond" the village - I wish - but..... I thought it was a great saying !! I apologize to anyone I've offended, with miss-spellings & stuff..... I just thought it was a great phrase !!
I'm not sure if I mentioned it before...
But a week or two back, I replaced my pen "re-fill".... I'm not sure exactly what the things are called.... anyhoo.. I asked for a fine one, as I don't like blotchy ink pens - and the one they gave me is
brilliant !! It's sooooo fine, I could write all day & not mess up once !!
The old "re-fill" must have been in there for years..... as with a lot of things, I don't write so much as I should, these days. Having "pen-pals" was great.... it kept the old hand in, as far as putting pen to paper goes. Now, of course, there are these blooming computers & "writing" seems to be a dying art......
I have been "complimented" on my writing.... by several people. It's kind of funny, because, at school - I was crap, as far as writing was concerned !! Oh well - life (unfortunately) goes on & on....
I'm still awaiting news, concerning my next surgery !! I hoped, with the 2nd Consultant giving the "green light" (to use his own words) & then the "gas pusher" 'phoning, a couple of Fridays ago.... well, I was hoping I would of heard more, by now !!
It's been a roller coaster emotionally, for me at least. Being taken back into hospital, in November/December was pretty much a low point - until the 1st Consultant decided to tell me, he could "fix this"..... Going thru' the surgery, to remove my implant & then the MRI..... well, it all seem to be going pretty good & I was on a "high"...
...then nothing.... The Consultant didn't seem too happy to do it, when I saw him, after Christmas..... and that was a real "low" point !! Of course - seeing the 2nd guy... well, that pushed me back up
again !! But - now, nothing !!
I am going to see the 1st guy again, in May - so, that's not too far away..... but, I really hope thing will move on - quickly - from there !! If it's not going to happen - well, that's going to be a bummer - but, if it is going to go ahead (which I doubt) - I really want to get it over with........
Oh well - well I was in hospital, before Christmas... a guy asked how long I was likely to be in for. I jokingly said "December 2013"...... maybe I was right after all !! Onwards.....
