A quiet day & a trip to town....

Greetings Worlds !!

I hope you are all well & happy this fine Wednesday evening ?!  It's been a really warm - muggy - day here in the wilds of England.... maybe too warm !!  I know, I do like the sunshine & dry weather - but, it really does need to have a little bit of rain, just to clear the air a bit !!

Never mind.... It's another Wednesday (as stated above) and the music of the moment is Chicago's live album from either late 1971 or early 1972.  I can't really remember when it came out !!  I did buy the 4 Lp set - but, now I have the 4 Cd set instead..... it was recorded when Chicago were a "rock band" not some FM balladeers !!

My "sorry's" to any Chicago fans, who I might offend.... but, they did get a little lame after a while !!

Right, that's the music of the moment.... as for the family... J is upstairs, on his computer - judging by how slow mine is acting at the moment - and the ladies of the house have both gone to a gym class.  B tends to go on a Thursday night - but, I was surprised that ME wanted to go as well !!  Anyhoo - they will be home in a couple of hours or so.... probably both tired out !!

As I said a day or two back - I wasn't feeling in a very "writing" sort of mood.....  I had a bit of bad news in the post & it played very heavy on my mind !!  I did intend to stay here all day today - but, in the end.... instead of being 'home alone'.... well, I went with B & J (who had a meeting to attend) and we did a small bit of shopping - as well as the standard going to the bank, to pay some bills !!

I didn't really want to go very far - but, feeling down in the dumps.... well, I needed to get myself out into the real World & try & get myself back together !!

As it was, I came home still feeling a little "upset" with myself !!  While we were in town, ME caught up with us.... it was great to see her.... but, she upset me - just a little - about her paying her keep, now she is leaving Uni.  It's no big deal - but, we've kept her (as best we can) while she was studying - now that's behind her... well, she seems a little p**sed with me about it all !!

Oh well - the joys of being a Father I guess !!

As it's been a 'bad' couple of days... I've been hiding behind my music collection.... and to that end, I have dug out a really good Zeppelin concert.  Recorded at the last night of their 6 night bash in Los Angeles, on June 27th 1977.... well, it's a brilliant concert.  The tracks are:

This is a fantastic concert !!  It's about 200 minutes worth and was the last time they played in Los Angeles... but, the band gave it their all & judging by this recording, the audience really gave their all in return !!

I am a Led Zeppelin fan - but, I can't help wonder if, by the time of this concert, that the band had lost the plot a bit ?!  I mean - punk rock was on the rise (I've never been a great fan) - so, how relevant was it to play a 30 minute guitar solo !!

For me - it works.... but, I can see why people around the World, were turning away from the rock bands & onto the newer punk bands that were on the ways thru' !!  Oh well - it's a great concert - one of my all time favourites, & if you get chance... give it a listen !!  But - you know what I'm going to write next - don't buy bootlegs !!

If I write tomorrow.... well... it will be June 28th & in 1970 Zeppelin were at the Shepton Mallet show grounds and they played one of the best ever concerts that they did in England !!  More tomorrow... !!

Talking of tomorrow... B has to go back into town, for a carer's meeting, so I will be home with very little to do !!  Hopefully, I will finish up my little list, that I've been working on over the last couple of weeks !!  It was all going so well - until a little earlier, when I found a Cd.... well, that I didn't know I had !! Never mind - it's all good folks !!

With B in town - I will have chance to catch up with other stuff..... so, that's tomorrow's plan !!  As for tonight - well, it's still early... so, I will probably watch a little bit of TV.. play some more music & then head for bed, once the ladies get home !!

"Wow" - such excitement !!
