Wet, windy & still waiting for my Cd's !!

Greetings !!

It's a cold wet England today, well.... the bit where we live is at
least !!  So, I'm staying here in the house today, there is very little chance of getting me thru' the door, with weather like this !!

Besides - I'm waiting for my Cd player to come back from the repair shop !!  It's a little after 11am & so far, the guy hasn't called to say he's on his way, but - the day is young !!

B has just gone out..... first to the post office & then into town, to the gym.  It's my Son's birthday on the 14th & she is posting off his card.  Why so soon ?  Well, the last we heard from him, he was still living in Canada, so it has to go 'Air Mail' to reach him in time.

I've not heard from him in over 3 years now - but, that doesn't stop me sending him a card !!  If it will reach him or not, well.... that's another matter.  With no new address, we can send it to the last place we know he was living and hope for the best !!  If he gets in touch afterwards, well - it's up to him !!

Onwards..... it's a Friday here with me.... so, depending when you read this & what part of the World you're in.... it could be anytime really !!  B - as I say - has gone into town, ME is at placement (4 weeks to go and then she has finished) and J is here about some place, probably on his computer, in his Hobbit hole !!

After lunch - ME is going to look at a place, with a view to going to work there full time, when her Uni stuff has completely finished.  I wish her luck & I'm sure she will give us a full report when we see her next !!

A little earlier, the phone went.... thinking it was the guy about my Cd player, I picked it up.... it was some guy from a lawnmower repair place, in town, telling me my mower was fixed & ready for
collection !!  That was nice - except, we don't have a mower in for repair !!  Turns out he had the wrong number - his problem was/is.... he only had the one number & no other way of contacting the
owner !!  He asked if I knew the guy - to which I said "no".... and then he went off muttering to himself !!  I hope he's found the guy !!  he had the right village - just not the right 'phone number !! Oh well.....

The music of the moment is Nightwish's live Cd..... 'From Wishes To Eternity' .... It came out in 2001 (I think) and I give it a lot of play time !!  As usual, for me - I play a lot of 'live' Cd's...... before this, I was playing Tangerine Dream's 'Live At The Shepherd's Bush Empire' from their '35th Phaedra Anniversary Tour'.... it's a great bit of music, covering all of their years, since 'Phaedra' over the 3 Cd's !!  There is a  DVD of the show available, well worth your money !!  So, buy that instead !!

I managed to play of the 'Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy' Lp's yesterday....... so (for me) that was a bit of fun !!  I know I can get the radio shows on Cd... I have them here... but, I'm not sure about the original Lp versions !!  I will have to look for them.....

..... but, not thru' 'Play.com.' !!  I'm still waiting for a DVD I ordered a week ago !!  Even with the holiday in the middle, that's crazy !!  They take the money straight away & then sit on it !!  Not good !!

site !!  It's a con !!

I actually wrote to Lady V, before starting this post..... so "Hello" again !!  They do a great job over there & I highly recommend
them !!

This weekend, I hope we will be back at Church on Sunday.... last Sunday was not so good for me & we missed it.  I'm still not 100%, but if we can go just for Sacrament, I will be happy with that !!  We will have to wait & see how I am, I guess......

Some stuff just came thru' the letter box - it was only 'junk mail' - I had hoped it was my Cd's, from the guy in the village.... but, no such luck !!  If they don't get here by the end of the month, I will pick them up, from a friend, at the record fair in Exeter !!  it will mean a bit of trading & cashing in a few favours, but..... at least I will have them !!

The guy in the village needs a kick in the butt !!  Why my friend, who sends the Cd's still uses him, I don't know..... it's a bit of a waste of time really !!  Ok - I know they are 'sort of' related, but it's beyond a blooming joke now...... it really is !!

I mean, even if he walked - it would take him 5 minutes to drop them thru' my letter box...... I could go down to his place, but it's a principle of the thing !!  My friend sends them over the Atlantic, from South America & the guy down the road can't be bothered to send them the last 200 yards !!

Oh well..... enough moaning, but.... if you're reading this - I've still not got them !!

I've taken the tracks, from the boot 'The Second Night In The Garden'..... if you know it, you'll know it's an audience recording & a little bit "booming".... but, for me, worth having in the collection !!  I wish the band could of released an official 1977 tape - but, in the meantime.... don't buy bootlegs !!  There are plenty of official 'live' albums out there - not just by Led Zeppelin... by lots of bands !!

More another time.....  I'll even re-check the dates !!

Ok - my plans for today.... as usual, none at all !!  I want to have a bit of a sleep - to make up for last night (which wasn't so good) but, I can't do that, until either the Cd player gets here or B gets home from town !!  never mind... I will find some things to do, in the meantime !!

So - with that in mind, I will be on my ways.... until next time...
