Seattle 1972 & William Shatner...

Hi Worlds !!

Remember me ?  I know, it's been a few days since I last wrote - sorry about that - but, I needed time to sort myself out a wee bit !!  I was really feeling low towards the end of last week & needed time to re-charge my battery pack !!

I can't really explain why - my health had got me down & things seem to all come to a peak during the week.  So - I surrounded myself with family over the weekend & got myself back together & here I am once more !!

First of all - my thanks to all of you who have logged in over the last few days or so..... I'm sorry there was nothing new to read, but... I thank you all !!  A big "Hello" to my reader in the US of A for logging in today and a new reader (I believe) in Venezuela .... It's especially great to see you have read my words !!  I thank you all for your
time !!

Ok - it's a Tuesday here in England..... and I'm completely on my own today !!  I don't even think there are any of the cats here
anywhere's !!  Mind you - it is very warm & dry outside... so, I guess they are all out getting some rays !!

ME has gone on another day at Uni placement, J has to attend a meeting in town & My Wife & Dearest Friend, B has taken him in.  She'll do some shopping while she is there & take in a bit of gym work.  I'm not sure what time anybody will be home - but, I'm under strict instructions to 'phone her (B) if I get into any kind of trouble !!

As I said to her - if all else happens - I'll head back to bed..... tho' I would rather be here listening to music !!  Which, at the moment, is Joe Bonamassa's 'Live At The Albert Hall' 2 Cd set. It came out in 2009 (I didn't realise it was that long ago) and, as I've been playing his latest 'live' stuff - well, I thought I would refresh my memory & give this one a go !!

So - that's the music of the moment....

As for what I've been up to.... well, as I wrote above - I've been here with my family, trying to get myself back up to some sort of (better) health !!

It got to the point..... well - all I wanted to do was sleep & not have to put up with all the "rubbish" my body was giving out !!  It seems to have worked !!  I'm a lot better today - compared to this time last week - and life doesn't seem to be quite so bad !!  I was in a downward spiral & needed to sort myself out - which, being here with my family, I'm glad to say, has worked !!

I don't think we went very far over the weekend..... I'm not really sure what we did actually !!  I know we missed Church on Sunday...... It was my decision..... It was 'Father's Day' and I wanted to spend it home with the guys.......  I can go to Church next Sunday - but, there is only one 'Father's Day' in 2012 & I wanted it to be with my children !!

It was a great day - J & ME gave me a helicopter !!  I kid you not..... well, I guess I do, just a little....!!  It's one of these remote control toys, with twin rotor's and we've had loads of fun trying to fly it around the room !!

The guys are better at it than I am - I guess because they use PlayStation's & stuff like that.... so are used to the controls - well, more than I am !!  I have managed to get the thing to hover & go around the room a little bit - but, that's about it !!  M (ME's boyfriend) came over last night and he was well good at it !!  On a good day - I want to try it out in the garden.... I'll have a lot more room & I should be able to control things a little better !!  I know it's an indoor toy, but.... I really need the practice !!  Oh well....... !!

Just changed the music.  J, on special days, gives me Cd's that he puts together with various stuff he finds on the net.  As I type - William Shatner is murdering 'Bohemian Rhapsody !!  It's quite good - in a corny sort of way.... and typical of what J puts together for me !! This is only track one and I have over 70 minutes left to play !!  He's a good lad & knows I enjoy the stuff he gives me......  Thanks J !!

I mentioned ME is at Uni placement - she has only a few more days to do & she will have completed her course... including all the external stuff she had to do !!  On Saturday, she went & looked at a possible job.  They seemed to be impressed with her - but, I don't think she was that keen on them......  We will have to wait & see what comes out of it.  She'll do well.... I'm sure of it !!

I just took a break - there was a lot of noise out in the garden.  The wild birds were going crazy - as one of the cats was was out on the side lawn & I guess the birds didn't like it too much !!

I mentioned - probably back in 2010 - that we have a nest of bees.  Well, the lady who was coming to get them... well, she decided against it (they were too high up for her) - this means they (the bees) are still there & they are fantastic !!

There are hundreds of them flying around, in the sunshine, and they are obviously very happy with their surroundings !!  Even with our windows wide open, they never come in the house & seem to be content, doing what bees do !!  Sometimes - when it's really hot - they hang in a long 'chain' from their nest - it's quite beautiful to see really..... they are fantastic little things !!  Thank you Lord !!

It was recorded on the 2nd night in Seattle & - in a way - is why I advise people not to buy bootlegs.  It's in this fancy cover - lot's of glossy photo's of the band & looks brilliant.  But, it's a really poor recording of a great concert !!  So don't buy bootlegs !!  It's a good track selection tho' - with tracks that wouldn't be released for about another year on the 'Houses of the Holy' album..... anyhoo - buy the official 'How The West Was Won' live album - it's from the same time period, but is in far better quality !!

If I get the date right - and I post tomorrow - it will be that time of the year, when the 1980 tour took place.... so, maybe more on those shows another time !!

Right - my plans for today... ?  For a change, I actually have one !!  On the table - off to my left as I type - there are about 30 Cd's..... my plan is to go thru' them & try & put them away.  They are all (nearly all) Zeppelin Cd's and represent the last of the collection to check thru'.... then put into their boxes.

It seems like I started this months ago - but, these are the last ones for now - so, once they are done.... well, it's done !! ................... for a little while at least !!

I keep thinking I will keep on top of things - but, I always get behind !!  Never mind - there is another record fair (in Exeter) in 10 days - so,  will no doubt add to the collection while I'm there !!  It depends what's new & how generous my friends are on the day !!

No really - there are no new tapes 'out' at the moment.... well, none that I haven't got at least.... so, maybe it will be time to buy some other stuff.  It will depend on what is there.... that's not until next week - so, that's a long ways into the future !! For me at least !!

My computer seems to have given up - so, if this actually works - well, we will see how things go I guess !!  I am no computer expert - if I press a button & something goes wrong - well, it goes wrong !!  I'm in the lap of the Gods when it comes to fixing things !!

Like B would say - give her a needle & thread and she is Ok - anything  techno sort of and she gives J a shout.  As he ain't here at the moment, I will press publish & hope it works !!
