Another Friday.......

Greetings Worlds....

I hope you're having a good a day as myself !!

Not only is it another Friday - but... the Sun is bright, the sky is blue - with a few puffy white clouds - the temperature is just above warm..... and all is well in my little part of the World !!

The ladies of the house, B (my Wife & Dearest Friend) & ME (our Daughter) have gone on a "road trip" today - heading towards Salisbury.  ME has a job interview & B went along for the ride.  I don't think either of them have been there before, so... they can keep each other company, when the sat-nav sends them down the wrong road !!

They left over an hour ago, so I guess they should be well on their ways by now....... hopefully they will 'phone when they are either there, or on the way home - I do worry about them, when they are away !!  It settles my mind a little bit, when they check in - at least I know they're safe !!

The job, that ME is going for, sounds right up her alley !!  I hope it can be sorted out for her - tho' she has plenty of options - where to work & who for..... bless her !!

As for J (our Son) he's here keeping an eye on me..... just incase I need any help or anything !!  I don't mind being here "home alone" - but, I know it makes B feel happier.... having someone here to look out for me !!

I will try not to cause him any hassle.... ho-hum !!

As mentioned before - yesterday - we hope to make the trip down to the record fair, in Exeter tomorrow.  I better make the trip - as I ordered up a load of Cd cases from my friend yesterday afternoon !!  They will cost me a fair bit - but, they're good quality &.... as I've not seen him (my friend) since before Christmas, well, I've more or less run out !!

So - I've ordered up quite a few..... but..... it will mean, I don't need any for another 6 months or so - I hope, or B will no doubt kill me !!

I've also had an e-mail from another friend, who hopefully will have some Cd's for me !!  If I let him down, well - he's a good bloke & gets me some of the 'live' Cd's that I like - so, I don't want to let him down, by not showing up !!  That would be bad !!

Anyways - that's tomorrow's plan !!  Oh I forgot - I also had a phone call from another friend - thanking me for some old Cd's I didn't want any more..... he will make good use of them + it clears out some of my rubbish !!

So - all in all - I've had a busy morning !!  It has kept me active & I've enjoyed all the contact I've had with my various friends around the place........... including one BIG parcel that came in the post this morning.. all the ways from Atlanta, US of A !!

So - my thanks go out to Lady V & husband Sir J !!  I cannot tell you just how happy I am for everything you sent !!

As I type, I'm playing the 'live' 2 Cd set, by the Tedeschi Trucks Band... a little later I'll give the other 2 Cd's a play as well...... I might even wear the T-shirt, while I'm doing it !!  My thanks again to you both - it is a wonderful gift & I cannot tell you how over the moon I am with all of it !!

I also - today.... with Lady V & Sir J in mind... ordered the only 2 Allman Brother's albums, I did not have complete on Cd.  So - with what came today - and 'Brother's Of The Road' + 'Reach For The Sky' on their ways to me.... heck, I'm as happy as a pig in mud !!

I have a compilation Cd - of the 2 above albums... 'Madness Of The West'... but, that's not complete - so, it will be good to replace my old Lp's & finally get them on Cd !!

If you're reading these words of mine, for the first time, you will understand why my blog is called what it is !!  My family & the music in my life - well, they are the 2 most important things for me..... they keep me going folks & that's a big bonus, for me at least !!

Talking of readers - I thank you all for taking the time to read my words !!  This month has beaten all previous records !!  Mainly - I think - due to the 60 pages my American friend read a few days or so back !!

Anyways - from America, thru' Germany & over to Russia & beyond - I thank you all for logging on this past week !!  It's kind of weird to know, that people I will never know are reading my words - I thank you all & hope you will keep logging in......

Ok - I was thinking about doing the next stage of my Cd list........ I've gone thru' the Cd's & written them down - stage 2 was to check that list with the books I have, from collecting over the years... which brought me to stage 3 & the final bit of the checking.  That meant printing up the list & then double checking that off against the boxes of Cd's..... with me so far ?  Well - that went out of the window, as I've all but run out of blank ink !!  So - rather than use it all up today & risk not having a printer, if ME needs to print up anything to do with her work or Uni stuff... well, I've had to wait.  No big deal - when I get some ink, I can start 'work' over again & finish the job !!

I need to do it really - as the last time I did a complete check on the Zeppelin Cd's was in 2008 & I've got several that have slipped thru' the net & are not listed anywhere's !!  B will need the list at some point - so, I need to do it for her to use - if nothing else !!

So - talking of Zeppelin Cd's... I have one from June 29th 1980.  It's another soundboard recording & altho' I'm not that much of a fan of the 1980 concerts, it's good to have in the collection !!  The tracks are:

It was recorded in Zurich & (I think) it's the complete show..... of course, not having been there at the time, I don't know for sure !!  I seldom play the 1980 shows - but, I seem to remember this was one of the better ones !!

As always - don't buy bootlegs... buy the official stuff instead - there is loads of good 'live' recordings by various groups, with-out buying the bootlegs !!  More another time.......

I've just turned the music off for a little while - it's been on for about 5 hours now & it explains why the amp was starting to smell hot !!  Oh well........

Right, my plans for today..... well, I'm going to watch a bit of TV & just generally kick back & have a little sleep between the programmes !!  Nothing too exciting !!  I know there is tennis on the BBC for most of the time, this couple of weeks.... but, next to "televised sky" (golf)... well, it's not my idea of excitement !!  But, there is some MotoGP on this weekend - so, I will stick a tape or disc in for that !!  Even tho' I won't watch it on Sunday - I can record it for another day.

Talking of Sunday - if all goes well, we'll be at Church.  I've arranged to take the last of the Cd's back to B & S and their Lp's as well..... I'm not sure if they want them back - but, I need to make the offer, incase !!  I don't know what I will do with them.... but, we'll see what they want to do with them.

Ok - B has just 'phoned & they are at Salisbury.... well, in a place called Wilton, which is just outside of the main town.... she is going to call me again, when they are on the ways home. ME is in the interview as I type - so I hope it all goes well for her - time will tell.....
