A Zealot, A Mini Egg & A Record... Ho-hum

Greetings World's !!

It's April 1st - so, no practical jokes please !! I'm here, more or less on my ownsome..... ME is at work today, J is outside cutting up the rest of the wood, the stiff that's been hanging around the garden, for what seems forever..... and B - well, she is upstairs, doing some hoovering, by the sound of it.

The music of the moment is Golden Earring's 'Vanilla Queen' - from the live set, that I probably mentioned, came this past week. To be honest - I only really like 4 of the 10 tracks, on the Cd's.... but, it's all music & I'm just glad to get a decent copy, at last !!

Back to yesterday.... and our trip to Church. I might have been just a little over the top, in my comments, about the guy doing his 'Prodigal Son' talk. I called him a zealot - and I think that was a little off the mark. I won't tell you why I think this - but, looking at the good old Oxford Concise this morning, my understanding of the word 'zealot' and the actual meaning of the word.... well......

I was wrong - he was not being a zealot..... he was just being a jerk.... so, I'll leave it at that !!

Once again, I'm trying to multi-task this morning !! I'm typing this & loading some more Cd's onto the computer, ready for the Mini Egg. I realized, I had missed all of - well, most of - the Allman' newer studio albums off the thing !! Mind you - I can be forgiven, given how many of their 'live' sets I've been playing over the last month !! Nevermind......

I've played the Egg, a few times now in the car..... I've been pretty gobsmacked by the sound quality of the thing !! The problem really - on a short journey, is what to play..... there are nearly 23,000 tracks on the thing so far and I've just enjoyed flipping between tracks..... much to B's annoyance !! She prefers to just stick with one thing & go with that..... nevermind - I compromised yesterday & played one of the compilation albums. That seemed to work !!

When I used the iPod thingy.... the little one, in hospital, last December.... well, I knew it was going to be a good idea, to fill that one (the little one) up with music, ready for going back in, this year. I could store up to 1000 tracks on the thing & it was an easy way of listening to music.

When I came home - B gave me her newer thingy & M - ME's boyfriend, gave me his... to fill up with stuff, ready for the next time. But, they only held about 1000 - 1500 tracks each..... so, if you take into account the 1000's of Cd's here.... I was limited, as to what I could put on the two of them.

In a way, I was going around, looking for stuff I really wanted to listen to, just to make sure I didn't put too much "junk" on the things...... no, that's not the right word. I was being careful - not to put stuff on the things, that I wouldn't listen to & in that way, waste space. I didn't want to be in hospital, thinking.... "why the heck did I put this crap on" - when I could of been listening to other stuff.

Now - with the Mini Egg..... it has sooooo much more room on it, I can just stick any old thing on the thing !! So - I'm going around, just digging any old thing....... stuff that I hardly ever play & putting things like that on it !!

The result now is, of course, isn't so much "what else do I put on it".... it's more "what else can I put on it" !! Oh well - ME said I would struggle to fill it up & maybe she is right..... but..... I could fill it up today, just by sticking loads of Led Zeppelin or Allman Brothers live albums on the thing, but, I'm going for variety here, as much as
anything !!

I do not want to be stuck in the blooming hospital, for what might be weeks upon weeks - and have the same bands playing over & over !! Is this making any sense - or should I shoot myself now & get it over with ?!

At the moment, I'm listening to another 2012 Allman's concert... this time, from August 10th & recorded in Montage Mountain PA. The tracks are:

They have been really great..... hopefully, just hopefully, some of the 2013 shows will get here in the coming weeks !! I can't wait to get them & give them a play....... oh, I'm a lucky guy & life is good !!

Ok - my plans for today.... well, I am going to start to re-organize the Cd shelves - trying to get them back to a kind of A-Z fashion - well, not quite as good as that, but better than they are, at the moment !! Doing the iPod thingy's has really messed everything up & I need to try & get on top of it all again !! That should take - well, more or less the rest of my life.... so, I've got plenty to do !!
