Warren Zevon... lots of stuff !!

Greetings Worlds !!

How is your little bit of the the Internet Universe treating you today ?! It's another Saturday - so, this really is the end of the week..... if you have no clue what I'm writing about - log in to yesterday's post !!

As I type... B is sat a short distance away, having a cup of (Mormon) tea...... it's horrid stuff, but she seems to like it, so - I can't say too much !! I was never a big tea drinker..... I preferred coffee, so.... each to their own !!

Mind you - a lovely dietitian took that little bit of joy, out of my life, about 6 or 7 years ago. I was drinking about a gallon of the stuff, each day - and, so I was told at the time, that was not too good for me..... so, I had to cut back.

I thought to myself, if I was going to have to cut back - I may as well stop drinking the stuff, altogether !! I think - looking back at it - it was the best way to go...... otherwise, one cup would of led to another... so, giving up - well, it made sense at the time !!

Anyhoo - we became "official" members of The Church later that same year.... so, I would of given up then, at that time - to follow the 'Words Of Wisdom'. I think I'm right, on that - I'm sure I will be corrected, if I'm wrong... which I usually am !!

Ok - where was I... oh yes.... B....

Well, she was sitting nearby, but - since I wrote all of the above, she has now moved into the kitchen, to do some cooking..... I think it's time to replace the cakes, which seem to have been eaten out, over the last couple of days !! They - cakes - do not last long in this house !! So.... that's b...

ME is at work today....., so she will be home about 9pm this evening. She actually works 8 to 8...... but, it's a good 45+ minute drive, to get to the place.... so, she never gets home, much before 9 !! I sometimes wonder, how she does it.... working a 12 hour day & then the driving that goes with it..... but, then I remember the missing link..... she is young !!

At her age, well.... I used to work 7 days a week.... and, when I had a break, would go off someplace & have fun !! Ah.... those were the days !!

That just leaves J... who is upstairs, someplace... either eating, or on his computer.... or, probably, both !! Nevermind..... what the heck - he's off to Uni, in only a few months..... so, he may as well have "fun" now !!

So - that's the family... as for me, I'm loading 8 Warren Zevon Cd's onto the computer, ready to transfer over to the Mini Egg.

B & I went into town, this morning & I picked up all 8 Cd's + AC/DC's 'Live At River Plate' 2 Cd set...... they will all make the Egg just a little bit nearer to being full - all ready for the next surgery, which will happen in (all being well) 44 days.... give or take !!

I'm going to drive everybody up the wall, with all of this "countdown" to the next surgery !! But - we have a little bit of a twist to the whole thing. ME is having a weeks holiday, starting on the same day, that I go into the hospital.

So - it's not only 44 days to my surgery.... but, it's 44 days to her holiday - and she likes that idea !! Bless her..... I hope, by then, the weather will sort itself out a bit !! Today it's been really cold & wet.... not heavy rain, just the drizzly stuff !! Oh well.... we were lucky, in town..... as we managed to do everything, before the clouds
opened !!

But - back to the "countdown"..... I'm using it, for my hospital visit & ME is using it, for her holiday.... what the heck - it works, so I'm not going to complain !!

It's another brilliant live show...... I really am glad that I've started getting them now, as they become available, rather than waiting until the end of the year, to get the complete set. Ok - I know I love my 2012 box set.... but, that was a special one. I can't expect B to buy me a box, for every year the band keep going !! Tho' - to be honest.... that would be nice...... Ho-hum !!

Right, my plans for today....... well, I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do !! Unfortunately - our TV seems to have packed up..... so, I might have to move things around a bit. I think it's terminal - and, as I'm not in any shape or form, qualified to make a repair on the thing - we will, no doubt, take it to the recycling centre, at some point & have done with it.

Incase you're wondering, why I don't take it someplace - to be repaired.... well, it's about 10 years old & hardly cost very much at all, so... we've had our value for money, out of it, the old thing !! Plus - if you remember - a while back, our neighbour gave us a TV.... for looking after his dog.

It's been in our bedroom, since then...... but, I don't see any reason, why it can't be brought down here & we'll go back to watching our old one, in the bedroom. It's not like we need the thing - the neighbour's gift - when we can use our old one. I'll sort it all out - but, I don't feel like it today ... maybe tomorrow !!

Just staying with P... our neighbour.... He has just come back from visiting with his Daughter, in New Zealand. he was there, for about 3 weeks & seems to have had a great time. he actually brought me back 2 pieces of rock, from a a place he visited..... so, for those of you who know me .... I have 2 new rocks in the collection !!

These are going to be hard to beat really..... given where they came from, I can't imagine I will get rocks from any further away - well, unless any of you astronauts have a spare Moon rock going !! Onwards - ever onwards....

Well, not really..... I've mentioned P's dog Murphy..... well, we have, sort of, been looking after him (Murphy - not P) and taking him for walks & just having him with us, if P's gone out. Anyhoo - in a nutshell.... B has told P, that she can no longer do the whole walking & looking after thing... well, not so much as she was, at least !!

To try & explain....

When P's Wife left him, we chipped in & helped with Murphy, mainly as P didn't know exactly what was going to happen...... he didn't know where he was going to be living - in general - all the things you think about, when times are kicking you hard !!

Anyways... that was about 6 months ago..... Now, P has bought his Wife out of the house, so he is still living here & Murphy has stayed with him.... so, all in all - it's been sorted. The problem is/was.... B was still doing all of the things, that she was - just incase P needed help, getting himself together. I'm not sure if that makes any sense..... but, in short.... B helped P - until he knew what he was doing.

Now, we're not being mean, or anything.... but - 6 months on, or whatever it's been... P has his house, he has just had a really good holiday in New Zealand..... and, we think... well, we've done our bit !! Now, it's time for P to take up the slack a bit & everything.

For B - I think - the whole "looking after Murphy" thing, really got to her, when P was going away, for a day or a weekend & expected B to look after Murphy, with-out really giving much thought, to what we might be doing ourselves !! It all got a little too much like being taken for granted !! Oh well - if it makes us sound mean... we aren't really.... we just think it's now time for P to start looking after his own dog for while !!

Moving on.... The Allman's show is coming to an end, so that sounds like a perfect time to sign this off....... I've taken up enough of your time folks !! I'm not sure if I'll be posting tomorrow - being a Sunday, I hope we will be going to Church - so, I doubt if I will have much time.... so, I will away... until next time...
