Joan Baez & an old cow !!

Well "Hello" there World's !!

It's a bright, but cold, day here in England, it's not been too bad at all, outside. I actually went into town, with B & J - my second outing of the week !! I'm going to have to be careful - I mean going out twice, in one week.... "Wow" !! I will fill you in, on the details a little later..... it's been a bit special..... !!

As I type, B is sat nearby - trying to find something on the Internet (I'm not sure what) and J has just gone upstairs, to get his shower. ME is out - doing a day shift.... as far as I know, she will be home later, after a quick visit to M's - her boyfriend. That won't be until later... so, I will probably be in bed by then.

The music of the moment.... well, I'll come to that later..... but..... first, my trip into town.

J has to go in - to town - every now & again, for a meeting. The meeting takes about 15 minutes, so - to save him having a 2 hour bus ride - B usually takes him in & brings him home. I normally do not go - I hate the great "out doors"........ or, more to the point, the people who inhabit it !! My idea of hell - is going into a crowded place & being surrounded by people - it really is !!

Anyhoo - as it was dry & bright, B got me dressed up in my warmest socks & stuff & off we went. The main thing we had to do, was go into the bank & pay some bills & cash over the counter, into the old account. No big deal really... we all have to pay our bills......

From there - we went up to the local council offices & payed our rates & for the use of a green bin, for another year. "What is a green bin ?".... I'm glad you asked.... It's exactly what it sounds like, a green bin - which we put all of our garden rubbish in & which the council guys take away, once every two weeks. It's as simple as that - tho'... it cost £45 per year, which is a bit expensive...... but, never mind !!

From there - well, this is where the good stuff happened !! I had asked B, if we could go around to the 2nd hand record shop, which is along by the river. I used to go there - well, maybe once very 6 months or so.... not very often at all really. But - lately, I've been going every few weeks..... and today, it really payed off !!

First the back story.......

Those of you, who have been reading for a while.... well, you will know that I was married before - way back, in the, well..... my dark ages !! It was a long time ago.... but, when we parted - or should I say, when the old cow left me for another guy..... she wanted certain stuff, from our "togetherness". Mainly half the value of the house & crap like that - but also, a bundle of the Lp's and things.

One of the Lp's was a 2 disc live set, by Joan Baez, called 'From Every Stage'..... and much to my surprise, one of the records I found today, was the above mentioned !! Now then - I love all kinds of music - as you will know, if you've been reading for a while..... but, this Lp is one of those that I've really wanted to replace & - today - that wish was completed !! "Yipppeee !!" I'm well happy......

It turned out that, the Lp was only brought into the shop yesterday.... so, my trip to the shop - well, it really payed off, big time !! To actually replace it, after 27 years... well, it means a lot to me, it really does !! It's playing, as I type.... Dylan's 'Lily, Rosemary & The Jack Of Hearts'.

What's sooooo good, about getting an old Lp ? Well, that's too hard to say, in only a few words - but, it's one of those special things..... something that was lost & now has been found !! It's made my day - it really has....

In was also lucky enough to find Clapton's 'Journeyman' Lp..... plus, the first Black Sabbath album. The latter is a Japanese import - so, has a couple of extra tracks on....... nothing too special, but worth having all the same - especially as it was only 99p or something like that !!

To add to all of the above... I went into the library, to pick up a couple of Gun's N Roses Cd's.... mainly to put on the Mini Egg. My copies are both a little messed up - so, I needed something that wouldn't skip !! Nevermind.... it's been a great day !! Not bad, considering I hate going out........ oh well !!

From Joan Baez, thru' Eric Clapton - to Gun's & Roses....... who says I don't like a mixture of music !!

As you all know - I'm waiting to go (back) into hospital. To this end, I've been looking for a book - to read, while I'm recovering from the surgery..... today, I think I've found it.

Jon E. Lewis's 'The West - The Making Of The American West' I've never heard of it before - but, I think it will be a good read, that is to say, once I get into the hospital !! As yet, I've not actually got a date.... but, hopefully sometime, in the next couple of months, it will all be sorted out !!

Ok - my plan for tonight... well, I'm going to have an early one - I need my beauty sleep + today, going out & about, has really knackered me !! So - I better think of signing off....

I thank you all for reading - especially my Romanian reader, who has been reading a few pages today !! My thanks to you & everybody else.... until next time...

Bye Bye
