Pink Floyd 'Hollywood Bowl 1972'

Hi everybody !!

It's a Saturday morning & I'm - sort of - home alone..... to explain.

J is up & about - having just helped me do the porch.... as mentioned before, it's a kind of "lean to" - which attracts all kind of rubbish & junk. B said this morning, that she didn't have time to keep on top of it, so J & I went out & really set into the place !! Anything that looked remotely out of place, well.... it is now residing in the garage !!

So that's J....... he has gone back upstairs, now... probably only to be seen, the next time he needs feeding !! So, the other little member of the family, ME - well, for some reason, she is working another night shift (tonight)..... so, as I type, she is in bed, trying to get some sleep. She will surface, about 4pm, if things go as normal.

That just leaves B..... this morning, once I woke her, she has gone down to the 'Church Hall'. She is a member of the Patient/Doctor team.... who do things that - only they - seem to find worth while. Today they are having some sort of 'exhibition' type thing. Now, usually, B will come back & say that nobody bothered to show up & it had all been a waste of time. Today - however - they are holding it, alongside the village "Coffee Morning".... so, they have a captive audience !!

My guess is, they will not be selling too many cups of coffee, as the people will see what is going on & make for the doors, as quickly as they can !! The "Coffee Mornings" are a chance for the older members of the population, to get together & have a talk......... they will not be too keen on having their time together, interrupted !! Nevermind.......

I have suggested, as B doesn't have time, to keep on top of things, that she should give up her participation, but - that's up to her !! Onwards - ever onwards......

The music of the moment, is Pink Floyd's' 'Hollywood Bowl' concert.... which is from 1972. I was playing it earlier in the week & decided to give disc two another going thru'. The tracks are:

It's an old concert, that has been around on bootleg Lp for sooooo many years, I can't remember. It was on 3 or 4 discs - depending which version you got - and most of the Cd's of the show, well.... they were just recordings of the Lp's, scratches & all !!

As I've probably mentioned before.... this version, is one I did - for myself.... after being fortunate enough, to be allowed access to some very good, early, tapes, of the show...... before they went to Lp !! So - no scratches, just the odd tape glitch..... it's well good !! I didn't bother to put all the tracks, into 'The Dark Side Of The Moon'..... I listen to it, as one "solid" piece..... so, for me, it's better that way !!

See - this is what I like about live recordings.... especially a show like this one. It was performed & recorded (illegally) - then it came out on Lp & everybody, including me, got a copy....... from there, it went to several "bad" Cd versions..... now, it's gone full circle & I'm listening to recordings of those illegal tapes !! I'm well happy....... but, as always, don't buy bootlegs !! Buy the official stuff.....

I had an e-mail, this morning, to say the 2nd set of Allman's concerts are on the way to me..... that is something I'm looking forward to hearing !! To get (official) concerts, less than a month, after they were performed - that has to be good !! I'll give you track listings, as soon as I get them !!

This weekend is "General Conference" weekend and each session will be broadcast live, from about 5pm - our time - finishing about 11pm each night. It's really good - but, as I am, I find it impossible, to watch it all, as it happens. So - I will set the DVD recorder up & watch it back, at another time...... when I can take it all in !!

At the last Conference... we had 4 of   the Missionaries here, on the Sunday afternoon, it really a wonderful experience. Only one of the 4 is still here..... but, to be honest, I don't know what they are doing this time around. we'll see what happen, I guess - but.... at the moment, there are no plans, for them, to come here.

Just took a short break..... I set the fire, before I started writing and now it's got going.... I needed to push some of the wood, back into it's little "hole" !! It's very true - fire is a "living thing"........

Some of you may have heard about a family of 6 kids, who were killed in a house fire, set deliberately by their parents. It's all very weird & thankfully, the two of them - the Mom & Dad - have been sent to jail for a really long time !! How they will spend their time, as "child killers" behind bars - well, good luck to them, I say........ good luck indeed !!

Two lads, on the islands, have been sentenced to 40 years in jail, for shooting someone else......... good luck to them as well !! I guess they won't be getting "out" anytime soon either....

It's a bright & sunny day, here in the wilds of England. Looking out across to the sea, it's really blue - with the other beaches, across the bay, really looking good...... but, having said that - it's really cold, out side !! I put my coat on, just to do the porch thingy, with J.... too cold, for going on the beach !!

As for my plans, for the rest of the day... well, I need to work on the Cd's some more - I have managed to sort some of the them out, but.... I really need to do a load more, to start to make it all tidy & workable !! I am thinking about giving away, a bunch of, the stuff, I hardly ever play.... they are only collecting dust & sitting there..... time will tell on that one !!

I also have to find room, for the brilliant "blue box", that the 2012 Allman's set came in. It's a fantastic thing, but I'm worried incase I damage it, so I might just take the CD's out & put the actual box away, some place. The 2011 box set, well, that's small & easily stored on top of the Cd tower thingy, here beside where I sit.... the blue box tho' - that's way too big, for that !!

Oh well - it's a plan.... if I get to it, that's another thing altogether !! It'll give me something to do - and that's a fact.... so, I better get on with it & stop writing, for today at least !!
