Music, more music & even more music.

Well, Greetings World's !!

As I type - its about 10am, here in England - but, as I type, I have the TV on quietly in the corning & it's showing "live" pictures, from the Boston area (Sorry, I don't know the exact locations) carrying the events of the last few hours. They keep flipping, between the actual things - as they happen - plus stuff that they filmed earlier...... our prayers, go out to those who have died.......

Ok - it's a Friday... another Friday - they seem to come around sooooo quickly these days.... if, and I say if... I could keep up with the rest of the week - or at least remember half of what happened, during the week... well, I would be a happier kind of guy, well... maybe !!

Anyhoo... apart from me being a little dumb, on what has happened during the week.... I'm sat here, more or less, on my own. The guys are upstairs... J on his computer & ME, well - she should be asleep... as she is working thru' tonight.... hopefully she is getting some shuteye as I type !!

My Wife & Dearest Friend... well, she has gone up to see her Dad - she left about 30 minutes ago. I'm not 100% she really wanted to go... but, he wants her about the place, at the moment.... As explained before - he is in the middle of increasing his bank balance...."oops !!" Sorry - I should say, he's in the middle of selling his house. So... he wants a little bit of morale support, I guess..... normally, well - most of the time - he doesn't want anyone near him... but, not at the moment !!

I'm guessing B will be home, about mid-afternoon..... I hope so, at least, as I have a Dr's visit planned for later & I could really use the lift down to the surgery place !! No - really... she'll be home a while later.... I'm just not sure exactly when !!

They have just confirmed, that one of the Boston bomb suspects is dead...... killed from multiple wounds.

the music of the moment - well, as I type, it's Neil Young's 'Thrasher'...... I say "at the moment".. as I'm playing the Mini Egg, on shuffle - so, every few minutes, something new comes over the speakers. I've found a way to put the Egg, thru' the amp system - it sounds pretty good !! Tho' - with ME asleep - I'm keeping the sound kind of "low"...... I don't really want to wake her up, if I can help it !!

Last night - the ladies of the house went out.... so, I was able to blast the thing a bit - now, that's what I call music !! Back to yesterday.... it was kind of a long one, so... well.....

I didn't do very well, overnight Wednesday.... so, I slept in for a while. B needed to go into town, so - for my "weekly" trip out, I went along for the ride. I really hated it !! So many people... it was crazy.... well - to me, at least !!

We really didn't do too much... just a quick trip, into the bank & then to the supermarket.... but, by the time I got back, into the car, I was climbing walls !! I just couldn't handle the people & stuff - I sometimes think, that B forgets how I struggle.... I'm probably being a little off on that, but.... I do find it very hard !! Nevermind !!

As mentioned - the ladies went out, for a while.... mainly to get their hair cut. In the meantime - our friend G, came over to see how I was doing. He seemed quite blown away by the thought of what they are going to do, to my back... during the next surgery !!

He has promised to come, in to the hospital, to see me... when it all happens.... but, I've asked him to check, with B.... it would be pointless, his driving in to see me, if I'm sedated all up the yazoo !! He lives just a ways from the hospital, so - when I'm stuck in there - he often pops in.

J has just gone, across the close, to let Murphy out.... it's our neighbour's dog, for those of you, new to my blog......... B used to take him, for a walk, each morning - but, she has stopped doing that now... but, at different times, during the day, we let him out "for a break" (shall I say)....... and, as I type - I can see his tail, in our front garden !!

If I know he is going to be out - I stick my hand, out thru' the living room window & make sure I give him a biscuit.... or two !! He now heads, straight from his door, across the close, to our window - as he knows I'm usually there !!

B has just 'phoned, to say she has reached her Dad's place.... she isn't sure, if he is home !! Oh well - if nobody is about, she is going to head up, to see her Aunt... who lives quite a few miles further on. Hopefully, she will let me know when if she goes "walkabout" !!

Just took a break, to watch a bit of the news.... which just seems to be a refresh on what's gone before. So no new news to report there... but, I've just asked J - who is behind me.... "How did the other guy escape" ?!! The police are saying he escaped, after a police (car) chase..... did they not have a helicopter  with infra red camera's on board, anywhere near the chase scene ?! Oh well..... to get out of a car & then leg it.... and escape - well, it seems a bit weird !!

Just back to music.... I finished the last of my Allman Brothers concerts, yesterday... well, until I get the next lot, at least !! it was recorded on March 9th at the Beacon Theater NY & the tracks are:

Before I go on, about the concert... the Mini Egg has just started playing 'Beautifully Broken' - from the 'Deepest End' concert.... by Gov't Mule. It has to be one of my favorite tracks by the guys - it always brings back sad memories !! Anyhoo.... the above concert......

Several stand out moments.... 'End Of The Line'.... 'Dust 'Til Dawn'..... a 15 minute 'Rockin' Horse' and the bass work by Vaylor Trucks on 'Southbound' - not to mention the drumming of Oteil Burbridge !! All in all - a fine end, to the first 6 concerts... the remaining 5 shows, from the Beacon will be here - just as soon as I have the cash & time to order them !!

I've just changed the music... I'm now playing the Black Crowes/Jimmy Page live set 'Live At The Greek' - it's never been one of my favorites... but, I'm loading another couple hundred tracks, onto the Egg... so, I've stop the song shuffle, for a while at least !!

As the Mini Egg is still very far, from full.... I'm just putting a load of Bruce Springsteen stuff on.... I only left it off, first time around, as I didn't honestly know how much room everything would take up !! I put on all of his live albums, plus some good quality bootlegs.... but, left off all of the studio albums. Oh well - they are going on now and there is still loads of room left, for other stuff !!

Oh well.... I best think about finishing soon........ things to do & all day to do them in - but, there is only sooooo many brain cells left, to cope with it all. Nevermind......

Just before I go...

I was in Boston, a while back now.... and in the bar, on the counter, there was a tin type thing - collecting money "For the boys". We we told, quite politely, but firmly, that we ought to leave... it was an "Irish" pub & I was English......... the "Boys" mentioned on the tin... well, they were the Republicans, in Ireland....... the same people who were setting off bombs around the place - as close as Taunton, where a pub used by Royal Marines was attacked, with a bomb. Nobody was killed in Taunton.... but several were hurt quite badly.
