Wynton Marsalis & Eric Clapton... Ho-hum..

Well Greetings !!

'Tis a Monday morning, here in England... the music of the moment is Tom Petty's 'Pack Up The Plantation' live Cd and all is well with my little World !!

As I type - well - I'm kind of on my own...... The ladies of the house have just gone out to town.... despite ME's pleas of having "no money to spend"... well, I'm sure she'll find the odd penny or two !!

B was going in anyways - to pay some bills & go to the gym... so, somehow, that plan got stopped & now they have both gone out !! That just leaves J here - upstairs someplace - and my good self, home alone again !! Nevermind.... I wasn't feeling too special - so, a trip to town wasn't on my agenda this morning - or at any time during the day really !!

It's a been a quiet couple of days... well - yesterday was, at least....

We did plan on going to Church... but, as it was about 11am, by the time B actually woke up - and much later, before she got out of bed - that plan got scrapped !! It was my fault really.... B has been getting some very sleepless nights, of late, looking out for me.... so, when I woke about 8am & saw her really "zonked" out... well, I decided to let her sleep.... Church will be there next week - so, it's what is in our hearts that counts !!

So - that was yesterday.... really !! M (ME's boyfriend) came around in the evening, after the football had finished.... so, it was good to see him again. I actually let him loan my copy of 'The Hobbit' - so, I hope he enjoys that.... I've watched it about 5 or 6 times over the last week.... I've put it on, most afternoons, when I've been here !!

I've really enjoyed that film.... hopefully the next two will be as good - let alone the special editions, that will no doubt come out, at some time !!

As I've said before - I have transferred the whole film soundtrack... talking and everything..... to Cd - plus, since I've had the Mini Egg, over to the thing, to listen to, in hospital !! I really am a sad person !!

It worked out, at 12 Cd's.... 4 per film.... so, it's plenty to listen to !! I'll probably do the same, to 'The Hobbit' at some point - but, that will wait until the special versions come out... in a year or two..... providing I'm not passed caring by then !!

Being a Monday - that means it's 35 days, until ME starts her holiday. That is just another way of saying - it's 35 days, until I go into the hospital !! So - that should be fun.... counting the days down & getting various odds & ends that I'll need to have, while I'm in
there !!

At least, this time, I have plenty of warning - to get everything together....... Sometimes, it's all kind of hectic !! Like last time I was in - I went to my Dr's - he sent me to the hospital & then I'm in hospital for 2 weeks !! That means having to get "extras" quickly... this time - I have lots of time to sort everything out !!

M, bless him, has offered to loan me his Kindle (I think that's what it's called) with a couple of films on it, to watch, while I'm there. That was a nice thought - but, I don't think watching films is going to be high on my lists of things to do !! It was a nice thought tho' !!

As I said to ME...for the first few days, after the surgery... well, I don't think I'll be doing very much !! That's where the Mini Egg (my iPod) comes in.... I can lay back & listen to music (of 'The Lord Of The Rings') and sleep or do what ever it takes, to get me out of the place !! Oh well.....

The music is about to change to a Cd, by Wynton Marsalis & Eric Clapton. It's called (I think) 'Plays The Blues' and was recorded 'Live From Jazz At The Lincoln Center'.... and beyond that - I know bugger all about it !!

The first track is playing and it sounds well happy, go lucky !! I'll give you a track listing:

  1) Ice Cream
  2) Forty-Four
  3) Joe Turner's Blues
  4) The Last Time
  5) Careless Love
  6) Kidman Blues
  7) Layla
  8) Joliet Bound
  9) Just A Closer Walk With Thee
10) Corrine, Corrine

This is, quite honestly, the first time I've played it - and looking at the notes, it also has Taj Mahal on vocals on the last 2 tracks. It sounds interesting - as yet, I've not heard 'Layla'... so, that could be fun !! I'll let you know how things go.... 'Forty-Four' has just kicked in.... a bit different from The Grateful Dead & Allman Brother's versions !!

I guess I better think about how I'm going to spend the rest of my
day !! Well - I have some printing to do - for J - plus I'm still knee deep in Cd's - that I should of put away over the weekend !! Nevermind..... it's going to be a quiet (loud) music day I think - depending when the ladies get back !!

Ok - for now... I will away.... thanks for reading... until next time...

Bye Bye
