The Blind Boys Of Alabama. Ho-hum

Well hello Worlds !!

How is your day treating you.... I'm still waiting to know what the weather is doing in Russia... but here, it's a lot cooler than yesterday - I've even put a jumper thingy on, to keep warm... not too good at all !!

First of all - our thoughts & prayers, to those unfortunate enough, to be caught up in the Boston marathon bombing - which, unless you've been on the International Space Station, asleep & cocooned from everything... you will know happened yesterday. Our prayers are with you - but, for the record, if the people who planted the explosives are reading these words (very unlikely)- you will not get away with it, oh no... you will not get away with it !! You will be caught & you will pay a price, beyond words.....

Right - it's a Tuesday.... I think..... and yesterday, for me (at least) was a great day. As mentioned before - we were unable to attend Church on Sunday - so, I asked if the Elders could pay a visit, as I had a gift, for one of them.

What I didn't know, until they got here, was that - the Elder, in question - is actually moving areas this very week !! So.... had he not come around & collected his gift..... or more to the point, had I put off doing the gift any longer, I would of missed the opportunity to pass it on to him, in person !!

To go back, to last year - when he first came here - he liked a box set I had, of 'The Lord Of The Rings'... which was on 17 Cd's. I said at the time - I would get him a copy... then, I got sick !! So - since then, it's been at the back of my mind, knowing that I needed to get it done - but, I kept putting it off !!

Then - last week - I had the chance, to do the whole thing, for him - with  a plain of giving it, to him, last Sunday. But - as I say - he came around yesterday & told us, he was moving.... so, my timing was perfect - if a little slow !!

He seemed to like it tho'.... so, if a little late - at least I managed to get it done, before he left !! Oh well - life goes on & - altho' his Companion is staying - we will miss him !! God speed our friend !!

Right - "The family".

ME is behind me... sorting out some food, for her lunch. She is doing an afternoon shift, so will leave here shortly, to start work at 2pm..... finishing at 8pm. I'm not 100% sore if she is coming home tonight, or ataying around her boyfriend's..... but.... we'll see how that turns out, I guess.

B has gone out to the gym... so, that just leaves J - who is upstairs, on his computer, doing whatever it is his does, all day long !! I tell you - his room, well - it's a World of it's own.... so, it's best not to ask too many questions !!

The music of the moment is another Allman's concert - which came this morning !! It's from March 6th this year & the tracks are:

I'm only on Cd 1 - so, I'm not going to speculate on how things will turn out, on the last two Cd's - but, so far so good !! You really need to check out, at least one, of these live Allman's concert Cd's.... they really are good !!

Now, of course, that these 3 have reached me - I will have to consider ordering the next ones !! Not this week - well, maybe... I'll see how things go. There are 5 left from this Beacon Theater run.... so, I want to get those - before too many other shows become available !! I don't want to get behind......

..... add to the above. I also had a Tom Petty & The Heart Breakers 'live' Cd reach me, this morning. It's his 'Pack up The Plantation' set... and I have a 45 minute tape of part of the show, from about 1987 - from a Lp, that a friend loaned me. Now - I have the Cd.... altho' it's missing 2 tracks, I won't complain - it's longer than the old tape !!

Right.... moving on.... ever on.

I more or less, finished up all the Cd's - putting them back on the shelves, yesterday !! It's taken a while, but I have (kind of) got them back into some kind of order now !! True - they're not all on the right shelves.... but, I know where most of them are, sooooo that's the main thing !!

It's not a finished product tho'...... some shelves have too much space & others are jammed solid !! So - I will no doubt mess around with them, just a bit more, as time goes on. Nevermind.... it's starting to warm up here... getting hot infact !! Oh well.....

Back to the Allman's concert....

Cd's 2 has just started, with the intro of 'The House Of The Rising Sun' - with the lyrics to 'Amazing Grace' - sung by The Blind Boys Of Alabama !! How mad - but, how cool is that...... buy the Cd's folks, go on, treat yourself !! Now the lyrics are back to 'The House Of The Rising Sun'..... oh - sooooo good !!

Right - my plans for today..... Well - with the Magic pill, still missing in action & my spirit slightly higher than normal, I guess I better find something to do, with the rest of the day !! I do have a couple of e-mails to write, so I ought to get on with those !! I promised to let people know exactly when I was going into hospital... well, as soon as I got the dates, so..... that's my plan for today !!

So - after a quick break, to take some morphine.... I will now be on my ways. I want to check out the weather in Russia & try to find a place in Latvia...... "Why ?"... that's a good question, and maybe, just maybe, one day - I will let you know !!
