'Caravan Song'..... Ho-hum....

"So here I am once more" !!

Greetings Worlds..... how has the weekend treated you ? Mine has had some real highs - and unfortunately a few lows..... but, never mind !! Life, well - it goes one & on.... and there doesn't seem very much I can do about it !!

As I type.... well, I'm trying to multi task again !! As the Mini Egg seems determined to keep finding space, for me to put albums, I've decided to put my David Bowie collection on the thing...... that's about 10-15 Cd's... not too many, but......

I started buying Bowie stuff, way back when.... and most of his early stuff is here, in the storage drawers, on pre-recorded tapes. Ok - I keep hearing that tapes don't last very long.... but, I disagree !! If you look after the things, they will last for years.... as is testimony to what I listening to, as I type..... but, first - the family !!

J is here, looking after me.... mainly as B has just gone into town, to do a bit of shopping & (I think) take in a gym class. She will be home, in about 3 hours, give or take. That just leaves ME - who, despite having a day off - to "relax" - has gone flying off, in her car... to the place, where she works... to meet some friends & - from there - head off down to Poole.

For those of you, from another area.... it's a town, on the South coast of this fair Country of England. It's quite a distance, from here - but, if that's what she wants to do - well, I ain't going to argue !! It's all kind of mad, to me - but, what the heck......

When I say that J is looking after me.... in truth, he is just here, incase I need him. Sometimes, well - there are things I need help with & B finds it "happier" if someone is about the place !! Nevermind - onwards, ever onwards !!

Back to music....

The Cd I'm playing, is one of the 56 I made from the old Project 87 tapes. As I say - people say tapes don't last.... but, these are from 1987 & sound really great !! I often play the pre-recorded tapes.... and they never seem to give me much trouble.... oh well, if you've just left them chucking around your car, in the Sun.... all those years ago, well - they won't play !!

And here is a coincidence....... I'm putting David Bowie stuff onto the Mini Egg.... and, the Cd has just started playing 'Station To Station' !! How weird is that !! Oh well..... moving on & looking over my back.... just incase there is a gremlin back there, messing with my head !!

But - back to the weekend.....

I'm not sure where to start really....... After B had finished at the meeting, Saturday morning, we went into town & I picked up a few Cd's.... mainly to put them on the Egg. Barbara Dickson's 'Barbara Dickson Album' & 'You Know It's Me' + AC/DC 'Black Ice' + The Gaslight Anthem's 'Handwritten' + Gun' & Roses' 'Appetite For Destruction' and Camel's 'I Can See Your House From Here'....

Some of them I have already - so, now I have two copies - or even three in some cases !! Oh well - I had picked up the Roses' 'Use Your Illusion' albums earlier in the week - so, the other one will go nicely with that !! As I say - they're all going onto the Mini Egg.... so... what the heck !!

I've just changed the Cd - I'm now playing Pink Floyd's 'Works' album..... it's a really great collection !!

Back to the weekend... it was General Conference time again !!

Over the two days, there were 5 sessions & I was able to watch some of all, but one of them..... really good. !! Some of the talks were a bit "lame" in places - but, most were really worth watching & listening to !! We enjoyed what we saw... and the rest is on DVD - so, we can watch them as & when we want !!

I got a bit down in the dumps, on Saturday night.... one of those nights, I'm sorry to say !! But - I woke up on Sunday morning - so, life goes on & that's about it really !! I hope you all liked my 'Crossroads' lyrics - a very poignant song..... is that the way it's spelt ?! Never mind... it doesn't look right !!

Right - I had to take a short break.... the postman has just knocked at our door. I had really hoped it was the first of the Allman's 2013 sets, that i ordered the week before last - but, it's something for B + a load of "junk mail" !!

Two of the things, are exactly the same.... 'Over 50's Life Insurance' from ASDA !! Honestly - I didn't want it, the first time they sent the stuff to me, I sure as heck ain't going to change my mind, by sending two of them !!

Incase you're wondering.... why did I get a Barbara Dickson Cd... well, two of them.... Well, if I go  back to 1986, I was good friends with a lovely lady, who had the album, at the time, on Lp. So - I wanted to get a copy of it, for that reason, on Cd !! Mainly as it has 'Caravan Song' on it... which was one of her favorites & - thinking about it - I put it on Project 87 !! So - there is another bit of a coincidence, as well !!

Over time... well.... in 1986... we lost contact..... that is to say, she didn't want to know me anymore, so... our lives, hopefully, have moved on !! But... if anybody out there knows a lady, who was called Linda J Allen.... say "Hi" to her for me & wish her well !! She was a great friend to me, when I needed one, more than I can say.... looking back on it !!

Ok - my plans, for today..... I want to delete some stuff, from the Egg... as there are two copies of the same thing on it (which I didn't think possible) and basically, kick back & chill out a bit !! Staying awake, until gone 11pm on both nights, of the weekend, has taken it out of me a bit !! nevermind..... I have a few things to do.... so, I best move on & get it done....
